What is DAWNGAZER?
An action RPG developed by IGNISPHERE Studio at Monochrome and published by Good Smile Company. It is the first game set in the original fantasy world of IGNISPHERE.
When does it come out?

Which platforms is it coming to?
PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. Xbox was added after the reveal.
Who is making it?
IGNISPHERE Studio, a team inside the Japanese company Monochrome led by director Takafumi Noma, who previously directed Unicorn Overlord. Yoshimi Kudo (工藤吉三) is producing the music.
Is it a sequel to Unicorn Overlord?
No. DAWNGAZER is a new original game in a new world, made by a different studio. It is also an action RPG, not a strategy RPG.
Is there a Steam page or a wishlist?
Not as of October 2026. Steam is a confirmed platform, but no store page or Steam app ID existed yet.
Is there a gameplay trailer?
No. As of October 2026 the only video is the IGNISPHERE Teaser Trailer, which shows town scenes and characters and introduces the world. Combat has not been shown.
What is the story about?
A plot by one nation brings tragedy to the royal family of the world's central nation, and the protagonist is a man who failed to protect them. He alone can take up the fight again and again through the power of flame, learning more each time. See Story Premise.
Does the story branch?
Yes. The director said each playthrough is short, there are many endings, and changing which companions travel with the protagonist changes the story.
How many characters can join the party?
No number has been given. The director said more than 20 characters appear in the teaser and almost all of them can join, and that the total playable cast will be large.
Is it 2D or 3D?
2D, including layered backgrounds that create a sense of depth. See Art Style and Visuals.
Does it have multiplayer?
Multiplayer has not been mentioned as of October 2026.
Is there a demo?
No demo or playtest had been announced as of October 2026.
Are the IGNISPHERE light novels part of the game?
No. Several light novels set in the IGNISPHERE world are being developed at a separate publisher, with characters original to the novels. They are separate works, and nothing in them is confirmed as game content.
