DAWNGAZER was announced on September 25, 2026 at 12:00 Japan time, in a joint press release from Monochrome and Good Smile Company. The release introduced two things at once: IGNISPHERE, a new original fantasy brand and world, and DAWNGAZER, the first game set in it.

The announcement came in the same month as Monochrome's 15th anniversary. The release also said the brand would expand beyond games, with Good Smile Company acting as the licensing contact for figures and other merchandise, and with several light novel projects in progress at KADOKAWA's Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. Those are separate products and are not part of the game.
On the same day, a long interview with Noma was published in Japanese by two gaming outlets, and an English interview provided by the publishers ran alongside the announcement. These interviews are the main source for what the game is meant to be, covering the world's twelve nations, the story premise, the branching structure and the 2D production approach. In the English interview, Noma said: "I wanted to create a world with a stronger fantasy focus again."
The original announcement did not list an Xbox version. Xbox Series X|S was added later: as of October 2026 the official teaser description lists it alongside Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Steam. See Release Date and Platforms.
