What the Stars Left Behind is a Hernand faction quest at the Scholastone Institute. Completing it rewards the Constellation Helm, which is the entry tool for the broader constellation questline that Patch 1.04.00 ended with the Sword of Starlight reward.

Where to Find It

The quest is offered at the Scholastone Institute research hub in Hernand. It does not appear at the start of the game; players need to be far enough into the Hernand faction-quest chain that the Institute's research questline is open. The exact chain and prerequisites for reaching the Institute's research projects are covered on the Institute's page.

Reward and Follow-Ups

• Awards the Constellation Helm, which unlocks the Stargaze active skill on equip.

• Opens the constellation registration loop. With the helm equipped, players can travel to the 13 fixed observation points across Pywel and lock in their alignments. See Constellation Research for per-constellation notes.

• Sets up the Maps of the Night Unveiled follow-up. Once all 13 constellations are registered, that quest unlocks.

• Eventually leads to Where Starlight Converges and the Sword of Starlight reward in the Patch 1.04.00 content track.
