Unwavering Steps is the climactic quest of the Thinning Blade sub-chapter in Chapter 9: The Sage of the Desert. The monks declare that Kliff's blade has "thinned," meaning his combat focus has become diluted by doubt and hesitation. To restore his edge, he must face T'rukan, a senior monk whose martial skill is legendary even among the warriors of the Cloister.

Defeat T'rukan in a boss fight
T'rukan is one of the toughest boss fights in Crimson Desert. He fights with devastating physical attacks that can kill in one or two hits if you lack Damage Reduction Abyss Cores. He has two health bars and escalating aggression across both phases.
Attack | Description |
|---|---|
Lunging Slam | Crouches low and lunges forward, followed by an overhead slam. Dodge sideways, not backward. |
Rapid Kick Combo | A series of kicks from a low stance that cover considerable ground. Create distance when you see him crouch. |
Spectral Burst | A large spectral being appears behind T'rukan. Three consecutive strikes follow. Dodge three times in sequence. |
Palm Strike | Close-range push that deals moderate damage. Often used after the player lands a combo. |
Prioritize dodging over blocking. T'rukan's attacks break through most guards.
Use Heavy Attack with Palm Force after dodging a major attack to briefly stagger him.
When the spectral figure appears, prepare three consecutive dodges immediately.
Sleep Arrows are highly effective. A single hit causes T'rukan to collapse, leaving him vulnerable for several seconds.
