It takes place entirely in the Hernand region and consists of four quests that introduce the Demeniss delegation's arrival and its consequences. The arc begins with a brief cutscene and escalates into a dramatic boss encounter against Kearush, the Slayer before concluding with the revelation that Demeniss has been secretly supplying the Black Bears.

The political tension between Hernand and Demeniss sets the stage for the events that follow.

1616 The standout encounter of this arc takes place during the Demenissian Delegation quest. A monster brought by the delegation to flaunt Demeniss's military might breaks free during the banquet, turning the hall into a scene of carnage. Kearush is a giant gorilla-like creature with three health bars and is considered one of the more challenging fights in the early game. Dodge forward and to the right to position behind it, land three quick strikes, then prepare for the next dodge. Blocking and parrying are ineffective against this enemy.
