Overview

The Trembling Woods puzzle is an Abyss Cresset puzzle located in the Pororin Forest region of Crimson Desert. It involves rotating three mechanical wheels to align a mural pattern on a large stone wall. Solving the puzzle opens a hidden chamber containing an Abyss Artifact, which you can spend in the skill tree to unlock new abilities.

Important: You must have the Stab skill unlocked before attempting this puzzle. The leftmost wheel requires you to drive your sword into a broken mechanism, which is only possible with Stab. If you have not unlocked it yet, spend 1 Abyss Artifact in the skill tree first.

Location

The Trembling Woods Mysterious Energy marker appears on your map south of the Unreachable Village, near the Trembling Gorge. It sits on the eastern side of the Trembling Woods, north of the Willow River in the southern Demeniss region bordering Hernand.

Be aware that two bears guard the area near the puzzle. They are surprisingly tough, especially for lower-level characters. You can fight them or try to run past them to reach the puzzle wall.

Puzzle Solution

The puzzle mechanism consists of a large circular mural on a stone wall with three horizontal levers (wheels). One lever rotates the base mural pattern, while the other two move metal ring overlays. Your goal is to align the metal rings so they perfectly frame the symbols on the mural beneath them.

Step 1: Right Wheel

Interact with the rightmost wheel first. Rotate it until the white compass/star symbol in the top-right section of the mural is fully formed and clearly visible. This wheel controls the base mural layer with the white symbols on it.

Step 2: Center Wheel

Next, turn the center wheel. This moves the large steel circle overlay. Rotate it until the large metal ring perfectly surrounds the compass/star symbol you just aligned in the top-right area of the mural.

Step 3: Left Wheel (Requires Stab)

The leftmost wheel has a broken slot that cannot be turned by hand. Use the Stab skill to drive your sword into the mechanism, then rotate it. This wheel controls the two smaller metal ring overlays. Turn it until the small rings align over the moon symbol and the remaining icon (a fish or eclipse shape) on the left side of the mural.

Completion

When all three layers are properly aligned, you will hear a loud rumble and the water below the structure will drain. A small door opens in the gap beneath the mural. Drop down into the revealed passage to find the Abyss Cresset on a pedestal.

Reward

The Abyss Cresset grants one Abyss Artifact, which you can spend in Kliff's skill tree to unlock or upgrade abilities. This puzzle also counts toward the "Mystery in the Forest" challenge, which requires solving all 37 area puzzles in the Pororin Forest Guardians region.

Tips

• If you are having trouble seeing which symbols need to line up, look for the contrast between the white painted symbols on the mural and the dark metal rings. The rings should outline the symbols cleanly.

• You can use the Blinding Flash sword ability to locate Abyss Cresset puzzle sites from a distance. The energy glow is visible through terrain when the ability is active.
