The Drunken Black Bears are a rival mercenary faction and the primary antagonists in Crimson Desert's opening story. Led by the fearsome Myurdin, they shatter the fragile peace of Pywel with a devastating ambush on the Greymanes.

The Ambush

On the continent of Pywel, the rival factions of Pailune maintained a tense balance. That fragile peace was shattered with the sudden assault of the Black Bears. In a brutal nighttime attack, they caught the Greymanes in a deadly trap.

The Greymanes fell one by one in their clash against the Black Bears. In a desperate struggle against their fearsome leader Myurdin, Kliff and the few Greymanes who survived were scattered to the winds. This tragedy sets the entire game's narrative in motion.

Leadership

Myurdin leads the Drunken Black Bears with ruthless efficiency. His combat prowess was enough to defeat Kliff in their initial confrontation, leaving the Greymane captain wounded and separated from his companions.

The game's structure involves reuniting the scattered Greymanes while building toward a climactic confrontation with Myurdin.

Alliances

The Black Bears have forged alliances with other enemies of peace across Pywel. Cassius Morten, a traitor to Marquis Stefan Lanford of Calphade, allied with the Black Bears in a violent rebellion that puts the region under siege.

These alliances make the Black Bears a continental threat rather than merely a rival mercenary band.
