Overview

The Sandwalk Camel is a temporary ground mount found in the desert regions of Crimson Desert. It is the strongest and most durable of all camel variants, boasting 400 HP, 300 Stamina, and actual combat stats (25 Attack, 50 Evade). Unlike the standard Camel and its other variants, the Sandwalk Camel can hold its own in light combat situations.

The Sandwalk Camel is a hardened desert breed adapted to long desert crossings. Its name refers to its ability to traverse sandy terrain with ease. The significantly higher stamina (300 versus 100 on other camels) makes it the best camel for sustained travel across large stretches of desert, and its Evade stat of 50 gives it better survivability when encountering threats.

Base Stats

The Sandwalk Camel is the only camel variant with Attack and Evade stats. Its 300 Stamina is triple that of other camels, and its 400 HP is the highest among all camel types. While its combat stats are modest compared to bear or boar mounts, they make it the only camel capable of surviving accidental encounters with enemies.

How to Obtain

Sandwalk Camels are obtained the same way as other camels, by dismounting NPC riders:

1. Travel to the Crimson Desert region and search for NPC riders along trade routes.

2. Look specifically for the Sandwalk Camel variant, which is larger and more robust than standard camels.

3. Defeat the NPC rider in combat to free the camel.

4. Mount the Sandwalk Camel before another NPC claims it or it wanders off.

Comparison to Other Camels

The Sandwalk Camel is the clear top-tier camel mount. The standard Camel, Camel Calf, Female Camel, and Two-Humped Camel all share 300 HP, 100 Stamina, and no combat stats:

• The Sandwalk Camel's 300 Stamina makes it far superior to other camels for long desert crossings. If you spot one, prioritize taking it over any other camel variant.

• Its combat stats allow you to survive encounters with desert wildlife without needing to dismount, something other camels cannot handle.

• All camels are temporary mounts. Once you dismount or fast travel, the camel is gone. Plan your routes before mounting.

• Unsaddled camels roaming the desert cannot be ridden. Only target NPCs who are actively riding saddled camels.

Stamina and Sprint Behavior

The Sandwalk Camel's most distinctive trait is that it does not spend any stamina when sprinting. Unlike horses and most other mounts that drain their stamina bar while running at full speed, the Sandwalk Camel can run indefinitely without ever needing to stop and regenerate. This effectively gives it infinite sprint duration, making it ideal for uninterrupted travel across the vast desert expanses of the Crimson Desert region.

The trade-off is speed. The camel's actual running speed sits at roughly the slower end of what a horse can manage. It will not outrun a fast horse in a straight sprint, but it never has to pause. Over very long distances, the camel's consistency can be more practical than a horse that needs frequent stamina breaks. The camel also has quite low jump height, making it unable to clear significant vertical obstacles; it is limited to ramps and gradual inclines.

Civilian Riders and Theft

Unlike most temporary mounts that are obtained by defeating hostile NPC riders, the Sandwalk Camel is also ridden by civilian NPCs across the Crimson Desert region. These are not enemies, just ordinary travelers moving along desert trade routes. You can still steal a camel from a civilian rider by removing them from the mount and hopping on yourself.

This means you do not always need to fight to obtain a Sandwalk Camel. If you spot a civilian riding one along a path, you can knock them off and claim the camel. Combined with how frequently camels appear in the desert, the Sandwalk Camel is one of the most accessible fleeting companions in the game.
