Crimson Desert features an item rarity system where equipment and materials come in different quality tiers. The rarest items provide significant advantages and serve as meaningful progression goals.

There is gear to loot and equipable items with a rarity system. Higher rarity typically indicates better base stats, unique effects, or special abilities unavailable on common equipment.
The rarity system creates meaningful loot progression throughout the 50-80 hour campaign.
After defeating a boss, Kliff can take the weapons they were using and learn their moves. Boss encounters likely provide some of the rarest and most powerful equipment in the game.
This system creates direct incentive to engage with challenging boss encounters rather than avoiding them.
Pre-order bonuses feature unique named equipment suggesting a tradition of special items with distinct identities:
Weapons: Tormented Soul Bow, Derictus Spear, Sielos Longsword
Shields: Khaled Shield, Balgran Shield
Armor: Kairos Plate Set, Grotevant Plate Set
Accessories: Shroud Lantern
Mount Equipment: Exclaire Horse Tack Set, Hyperion Horse Tack Set
Rare items come from various sources: boss defeats, quest rewards, exploration discoveries, and crafting with high-quality materials.
Pre-order bonuses provide early access to rare equipment that helps with the initial adventure.
