Patch 1.05.00
May 4, 2026 at 10:29 PM
Initial article covering Patch 1.05.00 (Boss Rematches, Re-Blockade, Iron Eagle, Hyacinth Macaw, Mountain God Boar)
Patch 1.05.00 is a major Crimson Desert content update released by Pearl Abyss on May 2, 2026 (revised same day). The patch is the third major post-launch update and ships the Boss Rematch system and the Re-Blockade system, the two flagship endgame loops promised in the Developer Roadmap: April to June 2026. On consoles the build number is 1.000.251. The patch contains over 190 tweaks, fixes, and improvements in total.
The headline content additions are two new legendary pets (Iron Eagle and Hyacinth Macaw), one new boss (Mountain God Boar), the rematch system covering 69 previously defeated bosses, and the Re-Blockade system that lets enemy factions take back 23 forts and quarries across 13 factions. The patch also corrects two long-standing regressions: comrade Trust no longer resets to 10 under certain conditions, and legendary mounts no longer die immediately after being summoned.

The Boss Rematches feature lets players re-fight any of 69 previously defeated bosses without starting a new save. Memory Fragments now appear on the world map and minimap at every site where a boss was first beaten, and they can also be navigated through Knowledge then Memory Fragments then Bosses. Lighting your lantern at a Memory Fragment, or using the Blinding Flash skill, triggers the rematch.
Rematches run in one of two modes selected before the fight begins.
Mode | Behavior |
|---|---|
Reminisce | The boss matches the stats and gear from your first encounter. Designed as a way to see how far your build has progressed since the original fight. |
Resonate | The boss is scaled to your current progression. Functions as a fair fight when your level and gear have moved well past the original encounter. |
Rematches grant no separate loot. Consumables used during the fight are restored to their pre-rematch state once the battle ends, so the system is positioned as endgame replayability rather than progression farming.
The Re-Blockading feature lets enemy factions retake liberated locations. The system covers 23 forts and quarries spanning 13 factions at launch. Re-blockades are applied at a set probability for strongholds that meet specific time and condition requirements, and the new state is loaded after a transition screen, meaning either saving and reloading or sleeping in a bed.
A new Re-Blockade Frequency option appears under Settings then Gameplay with three values:
Frequency | Behavior |
|---|---|
Stable | Re-blockades will not occur. Liberated strongholds remain liberated. |
Conflict | Default. Re-blockades occur intermittently. |
War | Re-blockades occur frequently. |
Pearl Abyss has stated intent to gradually increase the faction count, the stronghold count, and the threat level of re-blockading enemies in future updates rather than expanding everything at once.
The Iron Eagle is a legendary mechanical bird taming target located at Hawkstone Ruins, south of the City of Delesyia (just above the letter A in Delesyia on the world map). Interacting with the cogwheel statue at dawn (around 4:45 to 5:00 AM in-game time) triggers the bird's arrival. Place the Sotdae of Bond near the statue and load it with 20 Mercury ores. Once Trust reaches +100, the Take In prompt registers the Iron Eagle as a pet.
The Hyacinth Macaw is a legendary blue parrot tamed at Giant's Yard Outpost in the Redtree Forest, near the Red River along the Tashkalp boundary. Place the Sotdae of Bond by the cliffs of the camp and load it with 7 Desert Melons (each Melon raises Trust by 15). At Trust +100 the Take In prompt claims the pet.
There is a known ordering issue: taming the Iron Eagle before the Hyacinth Macaw can prevent the Macaw from spawning. Players who want both legendary birds should tame the Macaw first.
The Mountain God Boar is a new boss-class encounter in the Odeck area of Pailune, north of Silver Wolf Mountain. The trigger is reading the Lumberjack's Witness Report at Pailune's Saddlery, then destroying enough trees in the nearby forest to enrage the boss. The fight is single-phase but the boss summons smaller boar minions during the encounter. Confirmed drops include Fine Timber, Flawless Timber, Tree Branches, and an Abyss Artifact (rare). The Mountain God Boar cannot currently be used as a special mount.
Comrade Trust no longer resets to 10 under certain conditions. This regression had been introduced in Patch 1.04.00 and affected several follower NPCs.
Legendary mounts no longer die immediately upon being summoned under certain conditions. The fix applies to all permanent legendary mounts gained through the Sigil of Solidarity loop.
Multiple boss attack windows, follow-up timings, and stagger thresholds have been retuned across the existing roster ahead of the Reminisce and Resonate modes.
Several skill timing windows and parry recoveries adjusted to keep the new rematch difficulty curve readable.
The patch introduces UI elements for the Memory Fragment menu under Knowledge and the Re-Blockade Frequency selector under Settings. Distant scenery rendering, lighting transitions during dawn and dusk, and several save and load stability issues received targeted fixes. Localization passes were applied to multiple non-English builds.
The patch was released a few weeks after Pearl Abyss confirmed that Crimson Desert had sold over five million copies worldwide. The studio framed the 1.05 content drop as a thank-you and as a long-term investment in endgame replay for the existing player base, rather than as a content expansion targeted at new players.
Hyacinth Macaw spawn can be blocked if the Iron Eagle is tamed first. Pearl Abyss has acknowledged the ordering issue but has not yet patched it.
A small number of players reported that ongoing dispatch missions could be canceled with resources and contribution not refunded. This is fixed in Patch 1.05.01.
Pets could not be summoned under certain conditions in early 1.05.00 sessions. Also fixed in Patch 1.05.01.
