Overview

Oath of Darkness is an Earring accessory in Crimson Desert. With a +2 Defense bonus, it is the strongest defensive earring currently known in the game. The earring is tied to the lore of Antumbra's followers, a shadowy cult operating within the world of Pywel.

Description

"An earring proving the status of a deacon within Antumbra's followers. It is imbued with a vow's incantation to lure others into the shadows and bind them to eternal darkness."

How to Obtain

Oath of Darkness is found inside a strongbox puzzle at Bluemont Manor in Hernand. Strongbox puzzles are locked containers scattered throughout the world that require solving a mechanical puzzle to open. At Bluemont Manor there are two strongboxes: one requires aligning four slides to form an owl image, and the other involves matching piston heights to a reference picture. Players need to acquire a mask before they can steal the contents of strongboxes.

This is not a random drop or vendor purchase. The earring is a fixed reward from one of the Bluemont Manor strongbox puzzles, so each player can obtain exactly one copy during a playthrough.

Refinement

Oath of Darkness supports the standard accessory refinement system, with up to 10 levels available at any blacksmith. Materials required are hides and bones gathered through Hunting. No currency is spent during refinement.

Lore

The earring's description references Antumbra's followers, a cult that operates in the shadows of Pywel. "Antumbra" refers to the outer shadow cast during an eclipse, and the cult's deacons apparently use this earring as a badge of rank. The "vow's incantation" mentioned in the flavor text suggests the earring may have a ceremonial purpose within the cult's rituals, binding its wearer to their cause.

• At +2 Defense, this is the highest-Defense earring in the game and a solid choice for any build that needs survivability.

• Players who want both the Oath of Darkness and other Bluemont Manor loot should solve all strongbox puzzles during their visit.

• The sell price of 4.26 Silver is identical to the Engraved Gold Earring, despite the higher Defense stat.
