News of Victory sends Kliff to light a beacon on a hilltop overlooking Calphade. The beacon's fire pierces the night sky, sending a message of hope to the wounded people of the region and signaling that the Black Bears' siege has been broken.
Exit the boss arena through the door and mount your horse. Ride alongside a soldier up a long hill. This is an extended horseback section with no combat.
When you arrive at the beacon tower on the hilltop, dismount and climb the interior staircase to the top. At the summit, you need to ignite the brazier.
The recommended method is Concentrating Light: hold L1 + R1 (PlayStation) or LB + RB (Xbox), then press L1 / LB to focus the light beam on the brazier. Hold it for several seconds until the fire catches.
An alternative method is to light an arrow using a nearby wall torch and shoot it at the brazier, but Concentrating Light is faster and more reliable.
Lighting the beacon is a symbolic moment. Throughout Chapter 6, the Calphadean forces fought a defensive war against overwhelming odds. The beacon signals that they have survived and are beginning to rebuild. For the Greymanes, it marks the end of their role in the Calphade conflict, at least for now.
This quest has no combat. Enjoy the ride up the hill.
Concentrating Light is faster than the arrow method. Use it unless you want to experiment.
After lighting the beacon, the chapter is nearly over. Make sure you are prepared for Chapter 7 before proceeding to the final quest.
