Overview

Lingering Shadow is a main quest in Crimson Desert and the ninth and final mission of Chapter 10: Counterattack, concluding the Greater Firepower sub-chapter. With the eastern invaders repelled and the Frozen Hearted Predator defeated, the Greymanes have proven the ATAG's effectiveness. However, a lingering shadow of larger threats remains on the horizon.

Objectives

1. Return to the Gorthak Ironworks after the battle

2. Attend the victory celebration (cutscene)

3. Experience the Abyss vision during the night

4. Discuss the vision with Oongka and companions

Walkthrough

After defeating the Frozen Hearted Predator, return to the Gorthak Ironworks. A celebration cutscene plays showing the Greymanes and Ironflame Orcs toasting their victory. The atmosphere is jovial but short-lived.

That night, Kliff experiences an Abyss vision. The vision shows fragments of the larger conspiracy at work: shadowy figures manipulating events from a distant city, and a massive flying structure hovering ominously in the sky. This foreshadows the events of Chapter 11.

In the morning, Kliff discusses the vision with Oongka and the companions. The group agrees that the real threat lies beyond the eastern invaders, deeper in the continent. This transitions the story into Chapter 11: Truth and Reality.

Tips

• This is a story-only quest with no combat. Use this downtime to upgrade equipment at the Ironworks before heading into Chapter 11.

• Speak with all available NPCs during the celebration for optional dialogue and lore.

• The Abyss vision provides clues about Chapter 11. Pay attention to the visual details.
