Initial version with location overview, puzzle info, and related quests
Jijeong Temple is a remote desert monastery in Crimson Desert, located in one of Pywel's more isolated regions. The temple is home to monks who have long practiced Axiom meditation and spiritual disciplines. It plays a significant role in the main story during Chapter 9, when the temple falls into chaos due to the spreading Abyss corruption. The location is known for its Pensive Statues puzzle, which requires the use of Axiom Force to repair.
The temple sits on elevated desert terrain, with its distinctive pagoda tower visible from a distance. The architecture features traditional stone construction with weathered prayer halls and meditation chambers. A series of floating isles surround the temple complex, accessible by climbing and Axiom Force traversal. During the events of the main story, the temple's usual tranquility is shattered as Abyss corruption disrupts the area, scattering the monks and damaging the sacred Pensive Statues.
The main puzzle at Jijeong Temple involves repairing three broken Pensive Statues. Each statue has missing parts (primarily hands) that must be found in the surrounding area and reattached using Axiom Force.
Statue 1: Find two broken stone hands near the base of the statue. Use Axiom Force to grab each hand and carry it to the statue platform. Wait for the green light to appear, then snap the hand into place.
Statue 2: Similar to the first, locate two hands and use Axiom Force to position them. The hands may be on nearby cliffs or ledges.
Statue 3: The final statue requires finding a hand from a distant cliffside. The hand will float when released near the statue, so there is no risk of it falling. You must also repair the statue's body in addition to the hands.
After repairing all three Pensive Statues, you must report back to the Chief Monk. However, the Chief Monk is no longer at the temple. Instead, he has relocated to the top of one of the floating isles surrounding the temple complex. Climb to the marked location and speak with the Chief Monk to complete the Jijeong Temple in Chaos quest.
Jijeong Temple in Chaos (main quest, Chapter 9)
Before attempting the puzzle, unlock the two nearby waypoints: the Abyss Nexus near the entrance to Serpent Marsh and the Abyss Cresset.
When placing statue hands, watch for the green light indicator. This confirms the hand is in the correct position.
The temple area has strong enemies during the Chaos quest. Clear them before focusing on the puzzle.
