99 Step 1: Travel to Hernand Castle

1111 Fast travel back to Hernand town if you are not already there. Head to Hernand Castle and approach the inner courtyard. Enter the main castle building through the front entrance.

1515 Once inside the main hall, turn right. You will see a staircase leading upward to the second floor. Take either the left or right staircase, both lead to the same upper landing. Climb to the second floor.

1717 The castle has many rooms and locked doors on this floor, which is what makes the search confusing. Most of the doors you can interact with lead to empty rooms or are locked. The room you need is specifically on the left side of the corridor.

2020 Step 3: Find the Room with the Abyss Gate

2222 On the second floor, look for the wooden door on the left side of the corridor, toward the back. This is the same room you visited during your first trip to Hernand Castle earlier in the story. If you remember that earlier visit, the room will be familiar.

2424 Enter through the door and look along the walls for a section with a distinct yellow tint. This is the Abyss Gate. It looks like a glowing yellow wall or portal surface and stands out from the normal stone and wooden walls of the castle, though it can blend in with the castle decor if you are not looking carefully.

2828 Walk up to the yellow-tinted wall and press the interact button. The Abyss Gate teleports you into the Abyss, which appears as a sky map floating above the ground. You will spawn at the entrance to the Axiom Archive area.

3232 Some players have reported that the Abyss Gate interaction prompt does not appear when standing in front of the yellow wall. If this happens, there is a backup method:

3939 Step 5: Defeat Enemies at the Tower

4141 Once inside the Abyss area, move straight forward toward the tall tower building ahead of you. As you approach, enemies will spawn. These enemies are tougher than standard foes you have faced up to this point in Chapter 5, so come prepared with recovery items and ensure your gear is upgraded.

4343 Fight through all the enemies in the tower area. When the last enemy falls, a cutscene triggers automatically. This cutscene completes the quest objective and advances the Crowcaller storyline.

5050 The Abyss Gate can be easy to miss because the yellow wall blends in with the castle decor. If you cannot find it, look carefully along every wall in the room for a faint golden glow.This is the same room and the same Abyss Gate you encountered during your first visit to Hernand Castle. If you remember that earlier scene, it helps narrow down which door to enter.The enemies inside the Axiom Archive are noticeably stronger than normal Chapter 5 enemies. Bring extra healing and consider upgrading your weapon beforehand.If the Abyss Gate interaction button does not appear, do not waste time searching other rooms. Use the map-based fast travel workaround immediately.After completing this objective, the Crowcaller quest continues with additional story developments.
