Hillside Manor is a manor in the Hernand region, owned by Count Felix. As a confidant greatly trusted by Duke Celeste, his manor is also located near Hernand Castle. The manor reflects Felix's high standing among the regional nobility.

Hillside Manor is notable for containing a strongbox puzzle on the second floor that rewards the Saint's Necklace, one of the best early-game accessories. However, the manor is guarded, and players must find a creative way to enter without triggering the guards.
The manor sits just southeast of Hernand Castle, above the Church of Hernand. It is positioned in the political center of the region, surrounded by other key landmarks of the City of Hernand. The manor is easily recognizable by its elevated position and guarded front entrance.
The main doors of Hillside Manor are closely guarded. Approaching from the front will draw unwanted attention. Instead, navigate to the side of the building and look for a second floor window. Climb up to the window and push your way in to gain entry to the building, bypassing the guards entirely.
Once inside, head to the southwest corner of the second floor where the strongbox is located. After collecting the loot, stay inside until your theft indicator bar clears before leaving to avoid being caught.

The strongbox in the southwest corner of the second floor uses a pin-and-dial mechanism. While the puzzle might look complicated at first glance, it is fairly straightforward once you understand the controls.
Each pin needs to line up in the correct orientation when you press the button. On the bottom of each pin are resistance dials. Scrolling up on a dial adds more resistance, which causes the pin to go lower. Scrolling down reduces resistance, which causes the pin to go higher. Take it one pin at a time, adjusting each dial until the pin sits at the correct height. Once all pins line up perfectly, the box clicks into place and unlocks.
Alternatively, for the specific pattern in Hillside Manor, rotate the five puzzle boards in sequence: 2 rotations (leftmost), 3 (second), 4 (middle), 5 (fourth), and 5 (rightmost). Once aligned, press the button to unlock the strongbox.

Accessory with +5 DEF and the Vitality on-demand ability, which instantly restores stamina when activated (30-minute cooldown) |
The Saint's Necklace is one of the strongest early-game accessories available. The +5 DEF bonus is substantial for a necklace slot, and the Vitality ability provides an instant full stamina restore on activation. To use Vitality, equip it and slot it using your radial menu. The ability has a 30-minute cooldown, so you are unlikely to use it more than once per fight. On a controller, activating Vitality through the radial menu can feel a bit clunky, but the stamina refill can be a lifesaver during boss encounters or extended climbing sections. The long cooldown makes it less useful as a frequent tool, but the raw +5 DEF stat alone makes the Saint's Necklace worth picking up early in the game.

Approach from the side of the manor rather than the front to avoid the guards.
Look for a second floor window on the side of the building. Climb up and push your way in to bypass the guards.
The strongbox is in the southwest corner of the second floor. Head there directly after entering.
When solving the strongbox puzzle, take one pin at a time. Scrolling up on a resistance dial makes the pin go lower, and scrolling down makes it go higher.
After opening the strongbox, wait inside until the theft bar clears before attempting to leave.
The Saint's Necklace is worth the trip early in the game. Its +5 DEF bonus is significant at that stage.
Slot the Vitality ability into your radial menu right away. Even with its 30-minute cooldown, a full stamina restore can save you during a tough boss fight.
