Overview

Gwen Kraber is a minor boss in Crimson Desert encountered at Root Hold, a stronghold in the Hernand region. He is a spear-wielding warrior whose forces have occupied Root Hold, blocking access to its resources and the NPCs within. Defeating Gwen Kraber and clearing his soldiers is part of the Liberation System, which returns the stronghold to House Celeste and unlocks the area for the player.

Combat

Gwen Kraber fights with a spear, giving him longer reach than most human-sized enemies. The encounter takes place in and around the Root Hold camp. Before facing Kraber directly, players must deal with his soldiers who patrol the area. The fight itself is a relatively straightforward one-on-one duel compared to the game's larger boss encounters.

After defeating Gwen Kraber, his spear becomes obtainable as loot. Root Hold transitions from an enemy-occupied zone to a friendly settlement with merchants, quest givers, and access to the Eldertree's resources.

Location

Root Hold is centered around the Eldertree in the Hernand region. The stronghold is described as a place "where ancient power awaits." Before liberation, the area is patrolled by Kraber's soldiers and is hostile territory.
