Overview

Grover is the head of the Hernand Bank, located in the City of Hernand. He provides banking and investment services to players who register for a Personal Strongbox Permit. Grover has built up a considerable personal fortune through steady saving since childhood, and his cautious, conservative nature keeps him far from anything resembling a risky bet. Years of watching people lose everything to reckless investments have shaped his careful approach to money management.

Location

Grover can be found inside the Hernand Bank building in the City of Hernand. The bank sits along the main road through town, not far from the other vendor shops. Look for the large stone building with the coin insignia above the door.

Services

Personal Strongbox

Before using any banking services, you need to purchase a Personal Strongbox Permit from Grover. The permit costs 100 Silver Coins. Once registered, you can deposit gold bars and silver coins into your strongbox for safekeeping. This is useful for protecting your currency if you're worried about losing it, and it frees up your inventory.

Currency Exchange

Grover converts between the two main currencies at a fixed rate. One Gold Bar converts into 500 Silver, and 500 Silver converts back into one Gold Bar. There is no fee or spread on these exchanges, so you can convert freely without losing value.

Investment System

Once you have deposited currency into your strongbox, Grover automatically invests your gold bars based on a profile you select. Different investment profiles carry different risk and return levels. You can track your investment progress through the "Investment Status" menu in the banking interface. Switching between investment profiles is allowed, but changing your profile may require a waiting period before the new strategy takes effect.

The investment system is a passive way to grow your wealth over time. If you deposit funds early and check back after completing quests or exploring, your balance will have grown without any additional effort on your part.

• Buy the Personal Strongbox Permit as soon as you can afford 100 Silver. The investment returns pay for themselves over time.

• Deposit gold bars before heading out on long quest chains or exploration trips. By the time you return, your investments will have generated some extra income.

• Currency exchange is free both ways, so convert between gold and silver whenever it suits your shopping needs at other vendors.

• Check the Investment Status menu periodically to see whether your current profile is generating the returns you want before deciding to switch.
