The catch is that the greater variant has durability, so it degrades from use and eventually breaks. That durability bar is what separates it from the regular tier II and III gears, which do not wear.31+32+Durability Drawback33+34+Because the greater gear breaks, dedicating a slot to it creates a long-term maintenance problem and risks the slot going empty mid-fight. Most endgame bow builds therefore skip it on principle, even when one rolls out of Special Synthesis.35+36+Stacking Comparison37+38+The preferred build combines Infinite Arrows II (40%) and Infinite Arrows III (60%) for the same 100% refund rate across two slots, with no durability. Since both tier II and tier III gears are permanent, the two-slot solution sidesteps the greater gear's only weakness while reaching the same refund ceiling. This is why, despite being named "greater", the variant is generally not recommended for practical play.
