Face the Inner Self is the climactic battle of the Six Pensive Statues and the Evil Spirit sub-chapter in Chapter 9: The Sage of the Desert. Having proven his discipline, strength, and understanding through the preceding trials, Kliff must now face the evil spirit that has been corrupting Jijeong Temple.
Return to Jijeong Temple via the Abyss Nexus
Descend into the newly opened passage beneath the main hall
Fight the Evil Spirit
Destroy the three corruption nodes using Axiom Force
Defeat the Evil Spirit in its final phase
The spirit manifests as a towering dark figure wreathed in Abyss energy. It fights in a cavernous underground chamber beneath the temple.

Ground Shockwave | Slams the ground, sending shockwaves outward. Jump or dodge at the right moment. |

Dodge sweeping attacks laterally and close distance to strike the exposed core during recovery windows.
Midway through the fight, the spirit retreats and summons three corruption nodes. Use Axiom Force to throw objects at them, or strike them with melee attacks.
In the final phase, the spirit repeats a predictable three-attack pattern: sweep, ground slam, projectile barrage. Punish during recovery.
A final heavy attack triggers a cinematic finish.
With the evil spirit defeated, the pensive statues shine brightly and the corruption plaguing the Serpent Marsh begins to recede. The Chief Monk appears and acknowledges that Kliff's inner strength has purified the temple.
