Overview

The Cuckoo Bismouth Spear is the upgraded, permanent version of the Bismouth Spear in Crimson Desert. It retains the same bismouth affinity that applies damage over time and slows enemies on hit, but unlike the base version, the Cuckoo variant has no durability limit. This makes it infinitely usable and generally stronger overall, suitable as a permanent addition to any player's weapon loadout.

Bismouth Affinity

The Cuckoo Bismouth Spear carries the same bismouth affinity as its base version:

• Damage over time: Enemies hit by the spear take continuous damage for a period after being struck.

• Movement slow: Affected enemies move more slowly, giving the player a significant tactical advantage in positioning and follow-up attacks.

As with the base Bismouth Spear, the slow effect does not work on bosses, but it remains highly effective against regular enemies, animals, and smaller creatures in the open world.

How to Craft

Crafting the Cuckoo Bismouth Spear requires completing two sanctum cleansings and gathering specific materials. The process involves multiple steps spread across different regions of the map.

Step 1: Obtain the Base Bismouth Spear

First, pick up the Bismouth Spear from the Well of Enlightenment, located north of the Demon label on the map, south of the Forbearers Barrons. The spear sits on a weapon rack and can be grabbed without any prerequisites.

Step 2: Cleanse the Sanctum of Temperance

Travel to the Sanctum of Temperance, which is located right beside Unicorn Cliff, near the Greymane camp. Cleanse this sanctum for the first witch. Completing this step rewards the blueprint for the base Cuckoo Spear, which is a required component for the final craft.

Step 3: Cleanse the Sanctum of Solus

Next, travel to the Sanctum of Solus, which is located right beside the "A" in the Paloon label on the map. This sanctum contains a boss fight, so come prepared with appropriate gear and healing items. After cleansing the Sanctum of Solus, you receive the blueprint for the Cuckoo Bismouth Spear specifically.

Step 4: Craft at the Kilden Workshop

With both blueprints in hand, travel to the Kilden Workshop in Hernand. The workshop is located just west of the city itself and is easy to find. Speak with the crafting NPC to forge the Cuckoo Bismouth Spear.

• Bismouth Spear (picked up from the Well of Enlightenment)

• Batteries

• Bismouth Ore

Combat Tips

• The Cuckoo Bismouth Spear is ideal for players who want a permanent weapon with a built-in crowd control effect. The slow debuff makes it easier to manage groups of enemies without relying on consumables or cooldown abilities.

• Use the spear against fast-moving enemies and animals in the open world. The slow effect allows you to control the pace of the fight and prevent enemies from flanking.

• Against bosses, the damage-over-time component still adds value even though the slow does not apply. The persistent ticking damage supplements your regular attacks.

• Consider pairing the spear with a shield or a quick swap to a one-handed weapon for situations where the two-handed stance leaves you vulnerable.
