Overview

Close Threat is a faction quest belonging to the Goldleaf Merchant Guild in Crimson Desert. It is the final step in the Extinguishing the Last Flames investigation arc. Shakatu assigns Kliff to compile evidence from five merchants and identify the traitor within the guild. The quest features a puzzle-like evidence-matching segment followed by a capture sequence.

Walkthrough

Step 1: Speak with Shakatu

Travel to the Goldleaf Merchant Guild camp and speak with Shakatu. He asks you to present the evidence gathered from interrogating five merchants: Nogle, Skrav, Kathan, Blique, and Grimzle.

Step 2: Match Evidence to Testimonies

Shakatu requires you to correctly match each piece of evidence to the corresponding merchant's testimony. Here are the correct pairings:

Step 3: Hunt the Traitor

After matching all evidence correctly, Shakatu concludes that Grimzle is the traitor. Travel to Coalvale Workshop where Grimzle has fled. Strike him once to prompt his confession.

Step 4: Capture and Deliver Grimzle

Tackle Grimzle, punch him to subdue him, then tie him up. Carry him to your horse and ride back to deliver him to Shakatu at the Goldleaf camp. This completes the quest.

Tips

• You can make mistakes during the evidence-matching phase and redo your answers. However, you must have collected all five pieces of evidence before the investigation can proceed.

• The traitor is always Grimzle regardless of the order you submit evidence. Getting the matches right on the first try simply saves time.

• When capturing Grimzle at Coalvale Workshop, the process is similar to capturing bounty targets like Blix or Bianca. Tackle, punch, and tie up.

• The Hernandian Banquet Cloak is a strong armor piece. The Kinetic Art: Counterweight skill is useful for builds focused on counter-attacks.
