Initial version with stats, acquisition, core slots, and usage notes
The Bekker Shield is a shield in Crimson Desert that provides DEF 2 alongside Attack Speed Lv.1 alongside Movement Speed Lv.1.
It provides DEF 2 alongside Attack Speed Lv.1 and Movement Speed Lv.1, making it one of the more balanced early-game shields with small bonuses to both speed stats. Its low defense is offset by its accessibility, since it can be obtained through quests, crafting, or direct purchase.

The Bekker Shield can be obtained in three ways. First, it is awarded as a reward for completing the Turnali's Request faction quest, which involves delivering three Fine Timber to Turnali. Second, it can be crafted at any Blacksmith after reading the Shields of the World, Vol. 1 manual (purchased at the Equipment Shop in Calphade for 50 Copper), using Timber x10 and Fine Timber x5. Third, it can be purchased directly from the Hernand Equipment Shop near the Hernand Town Center for 1.51 Silver Coins.
The Bekker Shield can be crafted at any Blacksmith after reading the Shields of the World, Vol. 1 crafting manual. The recipe requires Timber x10, Fine Timber x5.
The 2 core slots allow customization with Abyss Cores to tailor the shield's bonuses to specific combat situations or builds. Players might consider slotting defensive cores for additional survivability or utility cores that complement the shield's strengths. Cores can be embedded or removed through a witch NPC at no cost, making experimentation easy.
With DEF 2, the Bekker Shield offers the least raw protection among available shields, but its dual speed bonuses make it a versatile option for players who value a balance between offense and mobility. The Attack Speed Lv.1 bonus slightly increases the speed of attacks from the paired one-handed weapon, while Movement Speed Lv.1 provides a small boost to repositioning. This combination supports a hit-and-move playstyle where the player blocks incoming strikes, counters quickly, and repositions before the next attack. The two core slots allow customization with Abyss Cores, and refinement at a Blacksmith increases the base defense to improve its durability over time. At a sell price of 95 Copper, the Bekker Shield has minimal resale value.
