Hedgehog Hedgehogs are nocturnal creatures with a voracious appetite, capable of eating a third of their body weight in one night. While omnivorous, they mainly consume insects and larvae. Both ordinary hedgehogs and the golden apple hedgehog can be taken in as companions that follow you and loot fallen enemies. To tame one, raise its Trust from 0 to 100 by feeding and petting it, then hold the on-screen prompt to choose Take In. See the Pet Taming Guide for the full feeding and registration steps.2121Hedgehogs are part of the cluster of small pets that share a single farm field in the Delesyia area, on the strip of farmland north of Tinkerton. Look for a leaning tower standing in the middle of the field with three flax patches (the grass with white flowers) beside it. This is the spot players call the golden apple hedgehog farm. Walking through the flax makes the animals dash out in one direction, so circle back through the patch to make them respawn. Hedgehogs tend to appear during the in-game evening.2323Hedgehogs and golden apple hedgehogs are fed fruit to build Trust. If you only want the loot rather than the companion, a golden apple hedgehog drops its Golden Apple when hit with Blinding Flash, which knocks the apple loose without harming the animal so the same hedgehog can still be tamed afterward.2525Notes2727Observing this creature grants a Knowledge entry that contributes to overall world completion.Creatures may flee if approached too quickly. Move carefully to get close enough to observe them.2929Drop Behavior (Patch 1.04)3131Following Patch 1.04, baby hedgehogs and their adult counterparts now drop Golden Apples as ordinary loot when threatened or killed. The stealth-steal interaction that the game used to require for harvesting an apple from a living hedgehog's back has been replaced: the apple now spills onto the ground as a normal world item and can be picked up without any special conditions.3333Drawing a sword and lightly threatening the hedgehog causes it to drop its apple without dying. This lets the player repeat the farm at the same spawn point, since the hedgehog survives the interaction and remains in the area for future spawn cycles. Killing the hedgehog also drops the apple, but is no longer necessary for the farm to work.3535What Changed3737Loot, not stealing. Before the patch, taking the apple counted as theft. That behavior is gone. The apple now behaves like any other dropped item and can be collected freely.No mask required. Equipping a disguise is no longer part of the process. Players can approach the hedgehog without any stealth gear and still walk away with the apple.No authority response. Picking up the apple no longer triggers a bounty or an NPC alert, so the farm can be run openly near settlements, guards, and fast-travel points.Non-lethal option. A drawn sword and a light threat is enough to shake the apple loose.
