This map is found at the top of the Torchlight Beacon tower. The Torchlight Beacon is a tall tower visible from the city of Hernand, originally built to signal emergencies quickly within Calphade.
To reach the map:
Approach the Torchlight Beacon tower and head to the right side.
Find the pile of wooden debris stacked against the tower wall, which is a climbing point.
Climb to the summit of the tower, managing your stamina along the way.
At the top, locate a small chest and open it to obtain the map. This counts as the first tracked trace for the quest.
Open your inventory and read the map. This triggers the second trace automatically, completing the Torchlight Beacon objective.
The map appears during the Traces of Intruder quest, which is the second mission in the Secret of the Lost Seal quest chain. In this quest, Marquis Serkis asks the player to investigate three locations for clues about a thief who stole the Seal of House Serkis:
Torchlight Beacon (this location)
Everfrost
Lioncrest Watchtower (the correct / required location)
While all three locations can be investigated, only Lioncrest Watchtower contains the clues needed to advance the quest. Torchlight Beacon and Everfrost are considered optional investigation sites. The map at Torchlight Beacon provides atmospheric context about the thief's movements but does not contribute to quest completion.
The full Secret of the Lost Seal quest chain consists of five sub-missions for House Serkis:
The Missing Family Seal - Examine clues at Oakenshield Manor with Marquis Serkis
Traces of Intruder - Investigate three locations (Torchlight Beacon, Everfrost, Lioncrest Watchtower)
Trace of Shadows - Follow leads to Duskwood and decode a stone grid puzzle
Where All Comes Together - Meet Williem Middler and search Halssius Conflux
Heart of Anvil Hill - Liberate Fort Anvil from the Bleeding Bandits and recover the seal
Completing the entire chain rewards the player with the Great Thief's Gloves (15 Attack, 5 Defense, +1 Critical Hit Rate, and the ability to steal one item undetected every 30 minutes).
Many players skip Torchlight Beacon entirely and go straight to Lioncrest Watchtower to save time. However, visiting the beacon provides additional lore about the thief's escape route.
Both traces at Torchlight Beacon (collecting the map from the chest and reading it in your inventory) count toward the tracking objective. Some players miss the second trace because they forget to read the map after picking it up.
The Traces of Intruder quest requires the Blinding Flash ability to burn vines at Lioncrest Watchtower and Force Palm for climbing. Make sure you have these skills before starting.
