Initial version imported from chronoodysseywiki.com
Chrono Odyssey implements "an opt-out philosophy that protects purely PvE-focused adventurers while still offering dedicated competitors various arenas."
The primary mechanism allows players to voluntarily toggle PvP status:
Combat only occurs between flagged players
Visual indicators (name colors, UI badges) show status
Players can toggle flags anywhere except safe zones
Cooldown prevents rapid toggling
PvE (default): Cannot damage/be damaged by other players; green badge
PvP: Free attack on similarly flagged players; red badge
Designated regions with auto-flagging mechanics:
Players automatically flag upon entry
Mixed PvE and PvP threats
Higher rewards but increased danger
Safe zones still exist within contested areas
High-risk extraction dungeon featuring:
Three-player parties descending endless floors
Powerful bosses and rare treasures
Ability to betray allies for loot
Limited-capacity "Eden Bag" for rewards
Time limit forces extraction before failure
Stealing from defeated players possible
Manual aim (no lock-on targeting)
Dodge rolls with invincibility frames
Parry and stagger mechanics
Weapon swapping during combat
Skill-based gameplay emphasizing timing
Chronotector abilities offer unique PvP advantages
Time freeze duration halved in PvP (1s instead of 2s)
Rewind mechanics counter enemy combos
Creates tactical depth and mind games
Dedicated builds separate from PvE gear
PvP-exclusive stats (critical resistance, defense types)
Affixes like "+5% PvP Damage"
Soft caps on attack/defense to reduce one-shot kills
Equal reward potential to PvE content
