Life skills in Chrono Odyssey provide the means to gather materials, craft items, and sustain your character. The system divides into three stages: Gathering, Refining, and Crafting.
Getting started
Players can start crafting in Dawn Slope immediately after the prologue. The settlement contains all workbench types, including a Weapon Crafting station near the main square and a Processing Station to the west.
Gathering tools
Tools are crafted at the Processing Station or purchased from vendors.
Tool | Use |
|---|---|
Sickle | Harvest plants and herbs |
Pickaxe | Mine ores and minerals |
Logging Axe | Cut trees for wood |
Butcher Knife | Harvest meat and leather from beasts |
Fishing Pole | Catch fish |
Campfire | Cooking and resting |
Basic tools can be purchased from vendors, but crafted versions provide better results.
Gathering freedom
Chrono Odyssey does not restrict gathering by level. Players can harvest any resource from day one. Better tools and higher gathering levels increase speed, but nothing is locked.
Crafting professions
Weapon crafting
Players can craft weapons for any class, making it possible to gear alternate characters. Weapons still require meeting level requirements to equip.
Armor crafting
No class restrictions. Any class can wear any armor type.
Alchemy
Creates potions using herbs, monster drops, and elemental reagents. Higher-tier potions require specialized ingredients from elite monsters or rare nodes.
Cooking
Creates meals providing stat buffs and passive healing for 10-30 minutes. Ingredients come from skinning, fishing, and gathering.
Leveling life skills
Life skill levels depend on usage. Without practicing gathering and crafting, skill levels remain at 1. Players can also purchase materials through the auction house if they prefer combat-focused gameplay.
