Only one of these names has an official English form, Thalassa; every other name below is given in simplified Chinese only, and this wiki does not invent romanizations for them.

The announcement copy's "competing factions" and "clashes between civilizations" now have at least one concrete referent, the hundred year war between 圣宫 and 万乘国, with 达卡斯 neutral between them. Nothing states which side, if any, the Thalastrider belongs to, and no group has a description of its own beyond the sentences quoted in the region entries.

All are simplified Chinese; English renderings below are this wiki's translations. Two 海履图鉴 entries describe the warring powers directly. 圣宫, translated: the supreme school founded by seven 凡应. Its doctrine of the wish, 愿心论, and its 凡器 lifted human civilisation onto the pure sea; every 隆舶 that people steer is a gift of 圣宫, and every 凡器 shines under the guidance of the wish. Its glory has passed down for ten thousand years, and wherever human civilisation survives, its most widely spread truth is proclaimed: 凡心所愿，皆有其应. The original reads 由七位凡应创立的至高学派。愿心论与凡器，于净海上托起了人类的文明。每一只为人类所驾驭的隆舶，皆因圣宫恩赐。每一件凡器，都在愿心的指引下熠熠生辉。 This entry is also the only official text in which 凡应, the game's title, is used for beings: the seven founders.

The pairing of 海引 with 海巡兽 in 蕾娜's description is the clearest evidence so far that a 海巡兽, the creature the English channels call a Bio-Cruiser, is something a person pilots, while the 隆舶 (Arkiloth) are the moving platforms that towns like 蛋波 and cities like 达卡斯 stand on.
