The Anti-Chaos Directorate (ACD), also called the Anti-Chaos Task Force (ACTF), is a government peacekeeping task force in Nova City. It serves as the primary organization addressing supernatural chaos incidents while operating parallel to conventional law enforcement like the NCCA.

Purpose

The ACD is tasked with monitoring, containing, and resolving Chaos incidents throughout Nova City. Unlike the NCCA which handles conventional crimes, the ACD specializes in supernatural anomalies and threats that require abilities beyond normal law enforcement.

Challenges

The organization faces perpetual resource constraints: 'chronic understaffing, overwhelming caseloads, and bureaucratic obstacles' plague its effectiveness. From day one, leadership confronts simultaneous crises including corporate disruptions and chaos incidents.

The Captain (player character) serves as commanding officer. Rather than maintaining traditional hierarchy, the ACD operates as a flexible task force recruiting specialists from various factions:
