Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is developed by Team Ninja, the studio known for its demanding, technical action games, and published by Koei Tecmo. It is a direct sequel to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, the 2023 action role-playing game set in a demon-haunted Three Kingdoms.
The sequel was revealed on June 7, 2026, during the Xbox Games Showcase, where Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja confirmed it for a release window of early 2027. No exact date has been given. The reveal trailer was published by Koei Tecmo the same day.
Platforms and Availability
Wo Long 2 is planned for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The inclusion of Nintendo Switch 2 marks the series’ first release on a Nintendo platform, and all four versions were confirmed in the announcement.
The original Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, which has surpassed five million players worldwide, returned to the spotlight alongside the reveal.

Masakazu Hirayama leads the project as producer and director, the same roles he held across the studio’s Wo Long series. He introduced the sequel at the showcase and confirmed it was already in development, while stressing that the reveal was an early tease with deeper gameplay details still to be shared.
