Darkon

Initial version (2026-09-08)
Darkon is the setting of Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons and the only location the game has named. It is a Domain of Dread, part of the Ravenloft corner of the Dungeons & Dragons multiverse, and it is the land Kaatri enters in search of the person she has lost.
Official material describes Darkon as a beautiful yet unsettling world where strange mists rise to devour the domain. The mists are not scenery: they are the thing the domain is losing ground to, and the game's own framing is that Kaatri ventures beyond the Mists of Darkon rather than simply travelling through them. The realm is presented as being on the brink.
The landscape that has been described runs from crumbling castles to forbidden dungeons, with the promise that danger and hidden power sit around every corner. The studio head has said Darkon carries a lot of variety and that players can expect some pretty radical changes in look from one part of it to another. Creators who played the hands-on build described a world beautiful enough to get lost in, right up to the point where something attacks.
Scattered through Darkon is Raw Magic, described in official material as power hidden throughout the domain. Tasha teaches Kaatri to sense it, and finding it lets Kaatri expand and transform what her magic can do. It is the reason to look closely at the world rather than travel across it, and it ties exploration directly to progression. See Exploration.
Aspect | What Has Been Confirmed |

Length to explore | Tens of hours, and explicitly not a hundred-hour campaign |
Visual range | Radical changes in look between areas |
Guidance | No quest markers in the demo build; a toggleable interface |
Named places | None. No town, castle, dungeon or region has been named |
Region count | Not stated |
The reveal footage moves through a small settlement and then down into a cellar full of undead. Creators who played the build referred to zombies, to a larger undead they called an ogre zombie, to guards and to at least one flying enemy. Official copy adds that anyone in this land can become a monster and that strange whispers there promise power. No creature has been formally named or given statistics, and no faction has been described. Combat against them is covered on Combat.
The domain is not empty of people. Kaatri can question characters and receive leads that push the story forward, and the protagonist's written morality prevents her from attacking villagers, which implies settled communities rather than a purely hostile map.
Darkon is a long-established part of the Ravenloft setting, and that setting has an extensive published history attached to it. None of that history has been confirmed as this game's version of Darkon. This wiki documents only what the game itself has shown: the mists, the castles and dungeons, the undead, the whispers and the Raw Magic. Rulers, factions, borders and events from outside this game are not treated as canon here.
