77 The Celestials designed all living creatures to cultivate Qi throughout their lifetimes. Every organism, from insects to humans, accumulates and enriches Qi as it lives. Upon death, this enriched Qi returns to the Celestials, sustaining their eternal life and immense power. As creative director Ivan Karadzhov put it: "The Celestials aren't benevolent gods. They're basically using humanity as a resource, as a farm for Qi energy." This cosmic harvesting cycle is the foundation of Celestial immortality.

99 The emergence of Elemancers disrupted this cycle. By learning to channel Qi directly, Elemancers retained energy that would otherwise return to the Celestials. This "theft" of Qi prompted the Celestials to launch The God Fall, a preemptive strike to preserve their power source.

1313 In gameplay, Qi fuels all elemental abilities. Using Fire, Water, Earth, Metal, or Wood abilities consumes Qi from Cheng's pool. Qi regenerates gradually over time and is restored more quickly through successful melee attacks. This creates a core gameplay loop: players alternate between elemental bursts and martial arts combos, spending Qi on powerful elemental moves then rebuilding it through hand-to-hand fighting.

1717 Each chapter of the story deepens Cheng's Qi channels, expanding his elemental capacity and power. Defeating the first Celestial Warden is the most significant milestone. It dramatically expands his Qi reserves and unlocks the ability to chain more powerful elemental combinations. Subsequent chapters continue this deepening, with each new channel enabling longer elemental chains and more complex ability rotations.

2121 Managing Qi expenditure is a core combat skill. Overcommitting to elemental abilities leaves Cheng reliant on basic martial arts until Qi regenerates through melee hits. Wood element buffs can improve Qi efficiency, and certain progression paths reduce the Qi cost of specific abilities. In boss encounters, Qi management becomes especially critical as players must balance defensive and offensive elemental expenditure against limited reserves. The regeneration-through-melee loop means that even against a boss, players need to find openings for close-range attacks to keep their Qi flowing.
