Tugwi
September 12, 2026 at 06:54 AM
Initial version (2026-09-12)
The Tugwi is one of the six playable Seekers in TARAE: The Unbound, and one of the three that were not playable in the hands-on demo at gamescom 2026. It is the roster's hand-to-hand fighter, described as overwhelming opponents through destructive power. As of 12 September 2026 it is the least documented of the six: the studio named it, gave it a role, and said very little else.
The game's own material carries no English name for the class. English-language coverage of the studio presentation renders the designation as Tugwi, which is the transliteration used here. The Korean 투귀 is written with characters that read literally as something close to fighting demon, which is a gloss on the word rather than a translation of the class name, and the English renderings in circulation elsewhere do not agree with one another. No English form should be treated as settled.

Three separate accounts of the studio presentation describe the class in the same words, as a hand-to-hand fighter who overwhelms opponents with destructive force. That is the one fact about the Tugwi with real corroboration behind it, and it is also the whole of what has been said about how it fights.
When the studio listed one class-defining behaviour per class, the Tugwi's was combination attacks, set beside sword stances for the Samurai and elemental harmony for the Geomancer. Another pass through the same list fills the Tugwi's slot with nothing more specific than that it uses its own unique skills, where the Samurai gets stances and the Geomancer gets forms. The two versions agree with each other and neither adds a mechanic, so the honest summary is that the class's combat idiom has been named but not explained.
Each class fights with its own combat resource and its own skill system, and none of the six resources has been named. The shared layer reaches the Tugwi as it does the rest: stamina covers sprinting and dodging from a single pool, and a dodge timed to an incoming attack returns part of what it cost. Each class has one signature skill that expresses its identity, reshaped through masteries and supported by utility skills. See Combat and Builds and Progression.
Progression is not shared between classes, and the five Seekers a player does not choose join the campaign as companions, so the Tugwi appears in the story of every playthrough alongside the Tiger Hunter and the rest of the roster. See Story and Setting.
