11Overview2233Windflute Island is a small island southwest of Blue Beach. It is one of the later land expansions in the game and serves primarily as a resource-gathering destination. The island is covered in Banyan Trees and White Fig Trees, many of which carry wild beehives in their branches. Chopping these trees down is one of the most reliable ways to collect honeycomb and Bumblebees for your ranch beehive operation.4455How to Reach6677Swimming from Blue Beach is the simplest route. Head southwest from the beach and you will reach the island after a short swim. The swim costs stamina, so make sure you are not running on empty. A speedboat rented from the pier also works if you have one available.88991010After completing the "Paving the Way" quest, a bridge is built connecting Blue Beach to Windflute Island. Before that quest is finished, you need to swim or boat over.11111212Unlock Requirements13131414Windflute Island is not accessible from the start. You unlock it at the Starsand Legend rank in the Island Life app. Prerequisites include having built at least 10 stations and purchasing Blue Beach plots first. This makes Windflute one of the latest land expansions available.15151616There is a Steam achievement called "Offshore Living" for purchasing your first plot of land on Windflute Island.17171818Resources19192020Banyan Trees21212222The island's signature trees. Banyan Trees require at least an Impact Axe to chop down. Many carry Small Beehives dangling from their branches (small yellow hives visible when you get close enough for the leaves to fade). Chopping a Banyan Tree yields:23232424ItemDescriptionHardwoodprimary wood dropHoneycombat least 1 per hive, sometimes moreBumblebeestypically a couple per hive, caught automatically when the tree falls2525Trees with beehives regrow daily, making Windflute a repeatable source of honeycomb. Visit regularly to stockpile.26262727White Fig Trees28282929Rarer than Banyans but also found on the island. White Fig Trees require a Level 3 chopping tool (Machete) to harvest. They drop Premium Wood and can contain Large Beehives that may yield Queen Bees. Large Beehives are less common than Small ones but worth more.30303131Other Resources32323333Wild flowers and herbs along the groundShells and beach items along the shoreCoastal ocean fish in the surrounding waters (same General Ocean species as Blue Beach)34343535Beehive Harvesting36363737Getting honeycomb from Windflute Island follows a specific process:38383939Walk up to a Banyan or White Fig tree with visible branches.Get close enough for the leaf canopy to fade, revealing the naked branches.Look for small yellow hives hanging from the upper branches.Chop the entire tree down with an Impact Axe (Banyan) or Machete (White Fig). The beehive crashes to the ground. Pick up the Honeycomb and any Bumblebees that drop.40404141Windflute Island and the forest west of Cloudrest Lake are the two best locations for wild beehives. The Cloudrest Lake location also has White Fig Trees but requires the same Machete to harvest.42424343Why Honeycomb Matters44444545Honeycomb is an essential material for the beekeeping system. At Intermediate Rancher tier, you unlock the Ranch Beehive blueprint, which requires 6 Hardwood Planks, 6 Honeycombs, and 3 Iron Sheets to build. Once constructed, Bumblebees placed inside produce Honey automatically from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM with no feeding required.46464747Starting your honeycomb stockpile early (before you reach Intermediate Rancher) means you can build beehives immediately when the blueprint unlocks. Windflute Island is the best place to do that.48484949Land Expansion50505151Windflute Island has purchasable farm plots for expanding your farming operations beyond Hopeland and Blue Beach. Since it unlocks late (Starsand Legend rank), the plots serve as endgame farming expansion for players who have already maxed out their mainland fields.52525353Treasure chests54545555One on the Windflute Island pier. One north of the island, slightly offshore.56565757Tips58585959Bring an Impact Axe at minimum. Banyan Trees cannot be chopped with lower-tier axes.If you have a Machete, chop the White Fig Trees too. Premium Wood and potential Queen Bee drops are worth the extra effort.Visit daily. Beehive trees regrow every day, so a daily trip builds your honeycomb supply quickly.Eat stamina food before swimming over. The swim costs stamina, and you want a full bar for chopping.Once you have enough honeycomb, stop chopping beehive trees and focus the Bumblebees on your Ranch Beehives for passive honey production.Coastal fishing around the island works the same as Blue Beach. Bring a rod and bait if you want to fish while gathering wood.60606161Related Articles62626363ItemDescriptionBlue Beachthe nearest beach, starting point for swimming to the islandBeekeepingRanch Beehive setup, honey production, and Queen BeesToolsImpact Axe, Machete, and other harvesting toolsFishingocean fishing available in surrounding watersStarsand Island mapfull island map with labeled locationsFarmingland expansion and plot management
