World of Lumin

Initial version (2026-10-14)
Lumin is the world of Sagas of Lumin, a semi-open fantasy setting made of floating islands, some of them the size of continents. The official setting text says it spans 15 cultures and mixes steampunk, medieval and gothic aesthetics. Dragons, airships and magical vessels connect the islands, and the player crosses them on dragonback. Only a small part of the world was playable in the 2025 demo; most of what is below comes from the studio's descriptions and the February 2026 roadmap.
The Steam page calls the game semi-open-world. The store description says players explore the world's regions one by one, finding items that make both the rider and the dragon stronger, raiding enemy camps and taking on trials for rewards. The roadmap adds a tactical world map for choosing the next destination, with hidden areas and secrets to find. The demo already had a World Map menu, which received quality-of-life changes in March 2026.
According to the setting text, cities, towns and villages are scattered across islands with varied biomes. Each nation has its own language and culture, although architecture follows regional heritage more than national borders. Humans are the dominant intelligent species, dragons are central to both travel and warfare, and other rare creatures exist as anomalies. The studio's channel describes a morally grey world fractured by a technological revolution, where old magic clashes with new technology.

The player's base is a flying ship that carries the rider and their dragons. In the demo the Ship Hub had a Captain's Cabin, revamped in patch 0.42, a dragon hangar, and a training dummy added in patch 0.22. The roadmap says the ship will gain new companions, crew members and upgrades. In the setting, owning a ship is the defining trait of the Malerus, the trained magic users described on Lore.

The studio wants the world to react to the dragon's fire. In June 2025 the developer said environmental interaction and the feeling of destruction with fire were very important to the team, and that most things in the world, not just trees, would be burnable and destructible. This is a stated goal; how far it goes in the final game has not been shown as of October 2026.
The roadmap says the world is full of secrets and that players will piece together a fragmented history hidden in the environment. The studio describes a choice-driven story with no clear good or evil, in which choices change the outcome. The setting's background is summarized on the Lore page, and the protagonist is covered on Ketra.
