Nullification is the process of neutralizing anomalies, returning them to a state that no longer deviates from reality. It is one of the primary methods the Bureau of Anomaly Control uses to deal with anomalous threats.

Natural Nullification

Some anomalies undergo natural nullification over time. When a Hyper Vortex emerges, natural nullification protocols may be enacted while Bureau personnel continue their search and containment operations.

Interestingly, direct observation of an anomaly's core (the Nexus) has been observed to accelerate the nullification process in some cases.

Temporary Containment

When a nullification method has not yet been discovered for a particular anomaly, it may be placed in temporary containment (tempcon). Bureau personnel continue to study contained anomalies to develop effective nullification procedures.
