Anti-Gravity is the signature traversal ability of Nanally, the S-Class Anima Esper and head of the Coluccis Family in Neverness to Everness. The ability lets Nanally walk on any surface, including vertical walls and ceilings, giving her a level of vertical mobility no other character in the launch roster can match. Anti-Gravity is not a one-shot skill; it is a passive movement mode that activates whenever Nanally touches a climbable surface.
The ability fits Nanally's cat-girl identity. Real cats have a vestigial sense of climbing and surface-walking that defies casual gravity; in Hethereau, Nanally's anti-gravity ability is the in-universe expression of that feline trait combined with her Anima electric energy. Visually, the effect is that she leaps from the ground onto a wall and continues moving upward as if the wall surface were just another floor.
Surface contact: Nanally activates Anti-Gravity by jumping toward and connecting with a wall or ceiling surface.
Walking on the surface: once attached, she walks on the surface as she would on level ground, with full directional control.
Detachment: she can leap off the surface at any angle, using the vertical position as a launch point for combat or further traversal.
No stamina cost: Anti-Gravity does not consume stamina. It is a free-roaming traversal option, not a gated ability.
Universal surfaces: most building exteriors, cliff faces, and structural surfaces are climbable. Some specific surfaces (slick glass, anomaly-warped geometry) may not work as expected.
Anti-Gravity gives Nanally unique combat options:
During fights against ground-anchored enemies, Nanally can run up a nearby wall to dodge incoming attacks. The vertical retreat is faster than a standard dodge for many situations, and the wall position gives her clean sightlines for follow-up attacks.
Large boss enemies often have weak points on their upper body that ground-based characters cannot easily target. Nanally can climb up the boss itself or onto a nearby surface to reach those weak points, opening combat options unavailable to other characters.
Launching off a high vertical position into a diving strike against a ground enemy is one of Nanally's signature attack patterns. The move combines her vertical mobility with her standard combat rotation, giving each attack a stylistic flourish that pairs with the lightning visual identity of her kit.
During Nanally's Underboss ultimate window, vertical positioning lets her chain attacks from unexpected angles while Underboss continues to follow up. The combination of vertical mobility and Underboss's joint-strike mechanic produces some of the most spectacular damage rotations in the game.
Anti-Gravity opens parts of Hethereau to Nanally that other characters cannot easily reach:
Rooftop traversal. Cliffs, building walls, and tall structures that would require detours for other characters become direct paths for Nanally.
Hidden areas. Some hidden chests, collectibles, and lore items sit in high-elevation positions accessible only via wall-walking.
Vantage points. Elevated rooftop spots offer views of Hethereau that contribute to photo mode composition options other characters cannot easily reach.
Shortcuts. Anti-Gravity often turns multi-segment ground routes into single vertical climbs, cutting traversal time across the city.
Method | Best For | Notes |
|---|---|---|
Anti-Gravity | Vertical surfaces, rooftops, boss climbing | Nanally-only; passive ability |
Long horizontal distances after a high jump | Available to all characters | |
Long road traversal, racing, music listening | Available to all characters | |
Major district crossings without driving | Available to all characters | |
Climbing | Standard surface scaling | Available to all characters; consumes stamina |
Anti-Gravity stacks with these other traversal methods rather than replacing them. Nanally still uses gliders, vehicles, and public transportation; her anti-gravity ability is the addition on top of the standard traversal kit.
Use Anti-Gravity for boss fights. Against tall bosses with upper-body weak points, climbing the boss itself or a nearby surface gives Nanally damage angles other characters miss.
Combine with the Underboss ultimate. Vertical positioning during the ultimate window keeps Nanally and her summon coordinated for maximum follow-up damage.
Use it for photo mode composition. Rooftop angles in Hethereau produce some of the strongest screenshots; Nanally is the easiest character to position there.
Watch for surface limits. Some glass and anomaly-warped surfaces don't support climbing; use a fallback character or jump method when the wall fails to register.
Practice the diving strike. Launching from a vertical position into a ground attack is one of the most stylish combat patterns in the game.
