Difficulty Differences and How to Change
June 5, 2026 at 12:36 PM
Explains what each of the three difficulties changes, which is recommended, and how to switch difficulty mid-game through System settings.
LumenTale: Memories of Trey has three difficulty settings: Easy, Normal, and Ace. They change how forgiving enemy Animon are, how hard their attacks hit, and whether you can access Anispace in the field. You start on Normal and can change difficulty at any point during the game.
Each difficulty adjusts enemy behavior and, in the case of Ace, restricts a field feature.
Difficulty | What It Changes |
|---|---|
Easy | Enemy AI is more merciful when attacking your Animon, and enemies take more damage. |
Normal | The difficulty the player starts with. |
Ace | Restricts Anispace access in the field. Enemy AI is smarter and its attacks hit harder. |
Normal suits casual players, while Ace is for those seeking a challenge.
Even on Normal, the game can be tough if you take enemy Animon too lightly. The enemy AI can be smart: one or two enemies may focus a single low-health Animon, and they can aim skills at the type your Animon is weak against.
However, if you spend a lot of time roaming and capturing every Animon you can, it is easy to become overleveled. In that case you may prefer Ace difficulty so you do not steamroll the story bosses. This keeps you rewarded for raising your Animon's levels while still keeping the story engaging rather than too easy.
You change difficulty in the menu, and you can do so mid-game and switch freely between any option at any time.
Open the menu.
Head to System settings.
Change the difficulty under Preferences.
Because you can alternate between difficulties whenever you like, there is no penalty for experimenting to find the right balance. For other recommended options, see Best and Recommended Settings.
