In No Man's Sky, you were a traveler in a suit. In Light No Fire, you are the creature. The character creator allows for a wide range of anthropomorphic fantasy races.
Component | Requirement |
|---|---|
Humans | The classic standard. |
Rabbits / Hares | Agile, quick, and distinctively eared. |
Badgers | Sturdy and grounded. |
Foxes | Sleek and cunning. |
Bears | Large, imposing, and strong. |
Wolves | Pack-oriented and fierce. |
Otters | At home in the water. |

You aren't locked into a preset look. You can customize fur patterns, clothing, and gear. The "procedural" tech applied to planets also seems to apply to character variation, allowing for diverse looks even within the same species.

Unlike the gear-focused progression of NMS, Light No Fire introduces RPG attributes. Your race might influence your base stats, though Hello Games usually favors player freedom over restrictive class systems.
