Overview
Zhao Yun is a warrior-class hero in Honor of Kings: World. He fights with a silver lance and uses dragon-themed combat techniques. He is one of the confirmed playable heroes whose Flow style players can channel through the dual Flow system.
Historical basis
Zhao Yun (d. 229 CE) was a military general serving the warlord Liu Bei during the late Eastern Han dynasty and Three Kingdoms period. He is best known for the Battle of Changban (208 CE), where he reportedly charged through enemy lines alone to rescue Liu Bei's infant son. Romance of the Three Kingdoms portrays him as one of the Five Tiger Generals, known for loyalty, bravery, and skill with a spear.
In the Honor of Kings MOBA, Zhao Yun is one of the most popular heroes, typically played as an assassin/warrior with high mobility and burst damage. He has appeared in the game's marketing and promotional materials since its early days.
Combat abilities
Zhao Yun's Flow style uses a silver lance with fluid thrust-and-sweep combinations. His dragon-themed techniques produce visual effects resembling a dragon coiling around his attacks. The style emphasizes agility and precision over raw power. His kit includes dash attacks that reposition him quickly and dragon strike abilities that deal concentrated damage in a line.
Design
Zhao Yun's visual design in Honor of Kings: World blends his traditional Three Kingdoms armor with the game's fantastical art direction. He wears dragon-motif armor with silver and blue accents, matching his association with the dragon iconography.
