Marked the per-Trait creature counts as first-beta community tallies, since the roster has grown since and the Gladiator count no longer matches the listed examples
11Overview2233Traits define an Anima's combat role on the auto-chess battlefield. Eleven Trait names are currently tracked by the community in Honkai: Nexus Anima. Each Anima has exactly one Trait, which is independent of its Aspect. When multiple Anima sharing the same Trait are deployed together, Trait synergies activate at specific breakpoints (typically 2, 4, 6, or 8 matching units).4455Trait List66778-Traits define what an Anima does in battle. The counts below are community tallies from the first beta, when 66 Anima were available, so they are not current; at the time they limited how many of each role were available for team building:991010TraitEffectStriker (4 Anima)Single-target physical damage dealers. A player might want four Protectors for the defensive Trait synergy while also ensuring those Protectors cover enough Aspects to trigger Aspect synergies. Stacking Protectors, for example, grants increasingly powerful defensive buffs as the breakpoints are reached.14141515The augment system (Nexus Hextech) can modify Trait interactions by artificially creating synergies between units that would not normally share a Trait.16161717Team Composition18181919Good team composition comes from finding the right balance between Aspect synergies and Trait coverage. You need tanks (Protectors or Gladiators) to protect your backline, damage dealers (Strikers, Blasters) to win fights, and support (Cherubim, Masterminds) to keep the team functional. The Kardia leader's Exclusive Principle adds another variable. The 6 assistance slots let you pad synergy counts with bench Anima that contribute their Aspect tags without taking a deployment slot.20202121Example Anima by Trait22222323TraitExample AnimaStrikerPuddlipup, Bunmareen, Mushgloomini, EggluvsBlasterCumulonGladiatorInkifoal, Scorscythe, Magisdrake, Marshalbird, Mimoo, Chocllamour, NoctumbraProtectorApollinis, Felinoxie, InkicornExplorerTaileep, Pupanoo, Chimaura, FoalhardyHotheadMesmerith2424Confirmed and Unconfirmed Traits25252626HoYoverse does not publish a Trait field for Anima in its official creature databases, so every Trait name in circulation comes from community tracking of in-build text rather than from an official list. Alternate renderings of the same roles circulate as a result, which is why published Trait counts vary between nine and eleven. Names seen in that community tracking include Charger, Explorer, Gladiator, Protector, Strategist, Little Shooter, Hot-Temper, Little Angel, and Mascot. The two additional names that have circulated, Biggun and Spook, come only from beta data files and have not been confirmed as live Traits, so they should be treated as unverified until an official source lists them.
