Corrected the launch roster to 15 characters (9 S-Class and 6 A-Class); Hotori and Lacrimosa debuted on later boards
11Otto is an upcoming playable Esper in Neverness to Everness. He is confirmed by current community data. His element, rarity, weapon type, and detailed abilities have not yet been officially revealed by Hotta Studio. Otto was not among the characters teased in the Co-Ex Test promotional trailer, making him one of the least-documented upcoming characters.22Profile44AttributeDetailRankNot yet confirmedElementNot yet confirmedWeaponNot yet confirmedRoleNot yet confirmedAffiliationNot yet confirmedBeta AppearancesNone (not in Containment Test or Co-Ex Test)StatusUpcoming / Unreleased66Name77"Otto" is a name of Germanic origin, meaning "wealth" or "fortune." It is also a palindrome, reading the same forwards and backwards. The name has historical prominence across European royalty and culture. Within the Neverness to Everness roster, Otto's name stands out as distinctly Western and straightforward compared to the culturally diverse naming conventions used elsewhere. Names in the game span Japanese (Akane, Sakiri), Chinese (Baicang, Xiaozhen), Latin (Lacrimosa, Merula), and various other traditions.99The City of Hethereau1111Hethereau is the sprawling urban setting where Neverness to Everness takes place. It is a neon-heavy city where reality-warping anomalies are part of daily life. The city is divided into several districts, each with its own atmosphere, faction presence, and challenges:1313DistrictDescriptionBridge CrossingHome to the Coluccis Family and the Eibon Antique Shop, a gritty neighborhood with strong local identityNew HeliosThe modern downtown core with skyscrapers and commercial districts; site of the Hypervortex crisisTamamochi StreetA lively shopping and entertainment areaHankaku StreetLocated in the Bridge Crossing area; residential districtMiguel DistrictUrban district with its own distinct characterNew Herland DistrictA district with unique architectural style1515Otto's home district and backstory connections have not been revealed. Characters in the game are tied to locations through their personal histories and organizational affiliations.1616Combat System Context1818All playable Espers in Neverness to Everness equip Arcs as their primary weapons. Arcs come in various forms including blades, hammers, claws, canes, and ranged weapons. Each Esper possesses a normal attack string, a skill, an Ultimate move, and a QTE (Quick Time Event) ability. Players build teams of up to four characters and swap between them in real-time combat to trigger Elemental Reactions. Effective team building revolves around pairing complementary elements on the Esper Cycle wheel.2020Each Esper fills one of three combat roles: Damage (primary damage dealers like Nanally and Lacrimosa)Survival (tanks and self-sustaining fighters like Fadia), and Buff (support characters who enhance allies). Otto's combat role has not been disclosed.2222Equipment and Progression2424When Otto becomes available, players will be able to enhance his performance through the game's progression systems. These include character leveling, Awakening (which unlocks new passive abilities at specific thresholds), and equipping Disks and Drive Blocks for stat bonuses. The equipment enhancement system allows players to upgrade their Arcs and accessories for additional combat power.2626Availability2828Otto was not playable during the Containment Test (July 2025) or the Co-Ex Test (February 2026). He is expected to become available either at the game's April 29, 2026 launch or through a post-launch gacha banner. The game's gacha system features limited-time character banners alongside a permanent standard banner, using the no 50/50 system that guarantees the featured character within the pity count.3030Other Upcoming Characters3232Otto is one of several unreleased characters confirmed through community databases and promotional materials. Others include Akane, Linko, EXE, Jenson, Chaos, Merula, Shinku, and Illica. Details for all of these characters are expected to be revealed closer to or after the game's launch date.3434Research Status3636Otto's profile remains one of the most sparsely documented of any unreleased Esper on the community side. As of April 2026, no entry for Otto appears on any of the major third-party community databases that track the game's roster. Hotta Studio has not released a dedicated character PV, key art reveal, or story teaser, and Otto was absent from both the July 2025 Containment Test and the February 2026 Co-Ex Test beta builds. Until the developer publishes an official reveal, any claim about Otto's element, rank, weapon type, voice cast, or faction affiliation should be treated as unverified.3838This article is intentionally conservative. Rather than speculate, it collects the systems that will frame Otto on release, so that once the reveal lands, the verified data can be slotted into the Profile table and any speculative placeholders can be corrected. Contributors are asked to cross-reference at least two reputable sources before adding element, rank, or ability details.4040Rank System Context4242Every playable Esper in Neverness to Everness slots into a rarity band that determines pull rates, base stats, and ceiling of kit design. Otto will occupy one of these two tiers on release. The Esper ranks page covers the system in detail; the short summary below is the minimum needed to read the roster pages.4444RankWhat It MeansS-ClassHighest-rarity band. Runs headline banners, tends to carry the kit complexity and passive depth that defines a meta team. Current S-Class examples include Zero, Baicang, Lacrimosa, and Nanally.A-ClassMid-rarity band. Still fully viable on dedicated teams, cheaper to raise, often packaged as banner bonuses. Current A-Class examples include Mint, Adler, and Skia.4646Element System Context4747Espers in Neverness to Everness align with one of six elemental affinities, each tied to a different kind of supernatural resonance. The element dictates how Otto will combine with other party members through the reaction system, so knowing which bucket he lands in is the first question the community will ask after his reveal.4949ElementRole in the CycleCosmosTop half of the cycle. Pairs with Anima to spawn Blossom constructs that deal repeating area damage.AnimaShared between both halves of the cycle. The hinge element for most offensive combinations.LakshanaTop half. Completes the upper triple cycle alongside Cosmos and Anima.ChaosBottom half. Pairs with Incantation for Scorch damage over time, or with Anima for Entropy Burst detonations.IncantationBottom half. Combines with Anima for Hexed burst damage scaling off recent damage taken.PsycheBottom half. Completes the lower triple cycle alongside Chaos and Incantation.5151Whichever element Otto ends up carrying, his optimal team compositions will draw from the neighbours in his half of the cycle. A Cosmos, Lakshana, or Anima Otto slots into upper-half teams; a Chaos, Incantation, or Psyche Otto slots into lower-half teams. See the characters and espers guide for how elements interact with the reaction system in practice.5252Possible Faction Affiliations5454Every playable Esper revealed so far belongs to one of a small number of organisations inside Hethereau. Without an official reveal it is impossible to say which of these Otto will be slotted into, but the candidate list is short enough to be worth recording so future updates can be made quickly.5656FactionRole in the StoryBureau of Anomaly ControlThe city's official response to Anomalies and Espers. Organised into ETD combat divisions, Containment Units, and the General Affairs Office. Home to Mint, Lacrimosa, and Baicang among others.Emergency Task Division 4A specific Bureau combat division captained by Baicang, with Lacrimosa as a member. The most heavily represented combat team in the early roster and a strong candidate for any field-operative Esper.Eibon Antique ShopIndependent crew operating outside the Bureau, centred on the shop as a safe house and meeting point. Members include Nanally, Adler, Hotori, Daffodill, and Edgar.Unaffiliated or OtherA handful of characters sit outside either organisation on release, either as rival factions, freelancers, or story-linked figures whose allegiance is revealed through the main story.5858Launch Context5959Neverness to Everness launched globally on April 29, 2026 across PC, PlayStation 5, Mac, iOS, and Android with full cross-platform support. Version 1.0 shipped with 15 playable Espers (9 S-Class and 6 A-Class). Otto is not among that first group. He joins a cohort of post-launch additions that includes Akane, Linko, EXE, Jenson, Merula, Shinku, Illica, and others who were mentioned in community databases but held back from the launch patch.6161Characters added after launch generally debut on a limited-time gacha banner before rotating into the standard pool. Otto's reveal cadence will most likely follow the same pattern the Co-Ex Test characters used: a short teaser image, a gameplay preview clip, a dedicated character PV, and then the banner itself. Each of these surfaces is an opportunity to verify and backfill the sections above.6363How to Track Otto Updates6565For players trying to keep tabs on Otto specifically, the most reliable approach is to watch the channels where Hotta Studio and Perfect World Games publish character reveals first. Details tend to circulate more widely a day or two after the original announcement.6767Official NTE website hosts the long-form character bio pages once a reveal goes live. The @NTE_GL Twitter/X account, which runs character teasers and trailer drops.Official YouTube uploads, where dedicated character PVs are published alongside any Twitter announcement.In-game news feed and the version patch notes, which list any newly added Espers and their banner schedules.6969Editing Guidance7171This article will expand significantly once Hotta Studio publishes Otto's official profile. Contributors updating this page should:7373Replace the placeholder rows in the Profile table with confirmed values (element, rank, weapon, voice actor, faction, birthday).Add a Kit Overview section describing Otto's basic attack, charged attack, skill, ultimate, and passive, drawn from the official PV or in-game tooltips.Add a Best Team Comps section only after verifying interactions with other released Espers in the live build.Add a Story Role section once Otto appears in either the main story or a character-specific side story.Cite at least two independent sources for any ability, stat, or backstory claim. Revert unsourced edits.7575Note: This article will be updated with Otto's confirmed element, rarity, abilities, and backstory once official details are released.7777Post-Launch Status (Version 1.0)7979Otto is not part of the Version 1.0 launch roster. The April 29, 2026 global launch shipped with 17 playable characters: 11 S-Class characters and 6 A-Class characters. The full launch roster is listed below for reference; Otto's rarity, element, weapon type, and combat kit have not been officially announced and the character is not yet playable on either the global or Mainland China client.80+Otto is not part of the Version 1.0 launch roster. The April 29, 2026 global launch shipped with 15 playable characters: 9 S-Class characters and 6 A-Class characters (Hotori followed on the Version 1.0 Phase 2 board on May 13, and Lacrimosa debuted in Version 1.1). That was still true as of September 21, 2026, four version cycles after the April 29, 2026 global launch: the Version 1.0 roster, the Version 1.1 additions, the Version 1.2 additions, both Version 1.3 phases and the announced Version 1.4 line-up (Blackbird and Akane Rin, September 30) all leave out Otto. Trailer-spotted characters typically receive a full reveal during a version update broadcast in the weeks leading up to their banner debut, so the unconfirmed fields above remain as published until that happens.
