This page lists the official trailers and videos released for Frostrail. Each one came with a post on the game's Steam news page, and the official trailers are published on the Shiro Games video channel. The biggest visible difference between them is the art style: the reveal trailer shows an earlier look that the developers later replaced with the revised, lower-fidelity style seen in the February 2026 gameplay trailer.
Date | Video | Released with |
|---|---|---|
April 10, 2025 | Reveal trailer | The game's announcement post |
February 27, 2026 | Gameplay trailer | A dedicated trailer post, featured again in the 300,000 wishlist post of March 12, 2026 |
April 9, 2026 | Playtest video | The closed playtest sign-up post (see Playtests and Closed Beta) |
July 20, 2026 | Closed beta video | The closed beta registration post |
October 19, 2026 | Demo trailer | The Steam Next Fest Demo release post |
The reveal trailer was released with the game's announcement on April 10, 2025. By June 17, 2025, the studio reported that it had almost 450,000 views, alongside the game's first 200,000 wishlists. It shows the game's original look, which the developers later moved away from. In December 2025 they wrote that Frostrail now looked a bit different from the style seen in the reveal trailer, after they settled on a style the team could produce reliably and in quantity. See Development History.
The gameplay trailer was released on February 27, 2026 with the line "Your train is your lifeline. The tracks are your only way forward." The accompanying post called Frostrail a ruthless open-world survival crafting FPS from FakeFish, and summed up the game as exploring, scavenging, crafting and fighting through a frozen, corrupted world alone or in co-op while operating and upgrading a steam-powered train. See The Train.
The same post pointed out the change in look since the reveal. The developers said they had refined the art direction, redrawn large portions of existing assets, added a wide range of environmental details, and had artists work more directly on important points of interest for more hand-crafted structures and visual storytelling. The trailer was featured again two weeks later when the game passed 300,000 wishlists.
Videos were also embedded in the posts announcing the April 2026 closed playtest, the closed beta registration in July 2026 and the release of the demo on October 19, 2026.
As of October 2026, the main Steam store page carries four videos, listed under these titles:

The demo's own store entry carries one video, the gameplay trailer. The About the Game section of the store page also embeds four short looping video clips.
As of October 2026, no dedicated trailer for the Early Access launch has been released, and the launch date itself has not been announced beyond Q4 2026.
