Created article on System Requirements (2026-10-20)
Frostrail is a Windows PC game built on Unreal Engine 5. The table below shows the minimum and recommended system requirements listed on its Steam store page as of October 2026. Both tiers require a 64-bit processor and operating system and 25 GB of available storage. The game is still in development ahead of its Early Access launch in Q4 2026.
Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
Operating system | Windows 10 64 bits | Windows 10 64 bits |
Processor | Intel i7 6700K or AMD Ryzen 5 5500 | Intel i5 11400T or AMD Ryzen 5 |
Memory | 16 GB RAM | 32 GB RAM |
Graphics | Geforce 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT | Geforce 4060 or AMD Radeon RX 7600 |
Storage | 25 GB available space | 25 GB available space |
The values are copied as the store lists them. The recommended AMD processor appears only as "AMD Ryzen 5", with no model number given.
The recommended tier doubles the memory, from 16 GB to 32 GB.
Storage is 25 GB for both tiers.
No DirectX version, network requirement or sound card is listed.
The store's Mac and Linux requirement sections are empty, and Windows is the only listed platform.
As of October 2026, the separate Steam entry for the Demo still shows TBA for its operating system, processor and graphics fields, with only the 64-bit requirement filled in. Players can use the main game's listing above as the closest guide.
Performance has come up in the developers' updates. After the first limited playtest in November 2025, they said they would keep monitoring and improving general performance. In the same December 2025 update they introduced a revised, lower-fidelity visual style, explaining that it lets the team produce more content while keeping the style consistent and the game as a whole more performant. See Development History.
As of October 2026, Mac and Linux are not listed platforms on Steam. In April 2025 the developers called Linux a tentative yes, since one of their developers works primarily on Linux, and said support for both systems can only be confirmed on release. Controller support is planned but will probably not be available at the start of Early Access. Platform plans are on Release Date and Platforms.
