Cloud Strife is the protagonist of Final Fantasy VII Revelation and the leader of the party. A former elite soldier turned mercenary, he has been the central playable character throughout the Remake series, and he anchors the group as it makes its final stand.
In Revelation, Cloud and his companions are grieving a beloved ally as they pursue Sephiroth toward a decisive confrontation. The chapter is built around the theme of resolve, with each hero confronting their own convictions.
In Battle
Cloud fights at close range with a large broadsword in the hybrid battle system, switching between real-time action and Tactical Mode. Through the FITS system he can equip job-inspired outfits, including the Warrior set, which official material confirms as his, to gain new movesets. He is not locked into that role: the director's own worked example of the outfit system has Cloud equipping the Black Mage set and keeping his close-range fighting while adding ranged magic.
The finale asks him to fight on two fronts. Official material states that Cloud and his companions must stand against the planet's colossal Weapons even as they work to save the world from Sephiroth, so the guardians are a problem running alongside the pursuit rather than a detour from it. Footage released on August 25, 2026 shows him in the Warrior set fighting a dragon beside Tifa Lockhart.
