The Mission Editor is a tool for creating custom missions in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV. It is not a launch feature: it arrives after release as part of the free Year One content plan.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV has not released yet. Everything on this page reflects information published before launch and may change.
What Is Confirmed
Two first-party statements cover it. The Year 1 Expansion product description lists a Mission Editor among the new modes, map packs and playable Commanders that will be added in a series of free updates. The roadmap art shows it as a named entry on the free update track.
Detail | What Is Confirmed |
|---|---|
Cost | Free, part of the Year One updates, for every edition |
Position on the roadmap | Third of four free drops |
Paired release | Map Pack III |
Window | Falls around the Spring marker on the published 2027 timeline |
Feature detail | Not published |
What Is Not Confirmed
Nothing has been published about what the editor can actually do. Whether it builds skirmish maps or scripted missions, whether custom content can be shared between players, which modes it feeds, and how it relates to Skirmish or Crusade Mode are all unstated. The roadmap also carries the studio’s own caveat that DLC and release windows are subject to change, so the Spring placement is a target rather than a date.
Because the editor is one of the free Year One items, it is covered in sequence on Post-Launch Roadmap and DLC, which lays out all four free drops and the two paid expansions.
