11Overview223344The White Bear is a legendary bear mount introduced in Patch 1.01.00 of Crimson Desert. It is widely regarded as the best combat mount in the game, boasting massive stats of 1,500 HP and 180 Attack. The White Bear is one of three legendary animal mounts added in the patch, alongside the Silver Fang and Snowwhite Deer. Two boss-obtained mounts, the Rock Tusk Warthog and Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex, complete the legendary mount roster.5566The White Bear is a premium battle tank. Its enormous HP pool lets it absorb tremendous punishment, while its 180 Attack stat allows it to deal devastating damage. It has multiple attack patterns including an AoE stun roar and its own equivalent of a turning slash. When dismounted, the bear automatically fights nearby enemies and handles being surrounded well. In the early game, the White Bear can practically solo bosses on its own due to its raw power. The trade-off is speed: it is the slowest of all five legendary mounts in straight-line movement, making it a poor choice for long-distance travel.7788Stats991010The White Bear has the highest HP and Attack of any legendary mount. Its stats are fixed and do not level up.11111212StatValueHP1,500Stamina180Attack180Mount TypeLegendary (permanent summonable)SpeciesBear (polar bear)SpeedVery slow (slowest of the five legendary mounts)Patch Added1.01.00 (March 28-29, 2026)1313How to Obtain14141515The White Bear is the easiest of the three legendary animal mounts to obtain, requiring no quest prerequisites. It can be found and defeated as soon as you have access to the northwestern part of the map and a Witch who crafts abyss gear.16161717The White Bear is located in the northwest part of the world map, west of Silver Wolf Mountain and just south of the White Waste Sanctuary. It spawns near two bear cubs. The bear is not inherently aggressive but will fight back when attacked.18181919Step-by-Step Acquisition20202121Travel to the northwest corner of the map, west of Silver Wolf Mountain and just south of White Waste Sanctuary.Locate the White Bear, which will be near two bear cubs.Defeat the White Bear in combat. Its abilities include:28282929Multiple Melee Attacks: The bear has several attack patterns that the rider can trigger, including its own equivalent of a turning slash. These deal heavy damage and can hit multiple enemies in a wide arc.AoE Stun Roar: The bear unleashes a powerful roar that stuns all enemies in the surrounding area. This is invaluable when surrounded, giving the player time to reposition or land free hits on stunned targets.Autonomous Combat: When the player dismounts, the White Bear automatically engages nearby enemies. It handles being surrounded well, using its attacks independently. This makes it an extremely effective combat companion.Standard Jump: The bear's jump is functional but nothing special. It clears basic obstacles but lacks the bounding agility of the Snowwhite Deer or the Icicle Edge Alpine Ibex.30303131With 180 Attack, the White Bear can practically kill bosses on its own during the early game. Pair it with Healing Force Palm to keep the bear topped up during extended fights. This combination allows the player to let the bear tank and deal damage while the player supports with healing and ranged attacks.32323333Strengths and Weaknesses34343535Strengths:36363737Highest HP of any mount at 1,500; can absorb enormous amounts of damageHighest Attack at 180; capable of killing early-game bosses practically soloAoE stun roar provides crowd control against groups of enemiesAutonomous combat when dismounted; handles being surrounded effectivelyMultiple attack patterns give versatile offensive options while mountedPermanent summonable mount; available anywhere at any time38383939Weaknesses:40404141Slowest of all five legendary mounts in straight-line speed; terrible for long-distance travelOnly 180 Stamina limits extended sprintingJump is merely adequate; poor at navigating complex terrain compared to deer or ibexLarge hitbox can make it unwieldy in tight spacesOverkill for basic encounters; a faster mount is more practical for everyday exploration42424343See Also44444545Mounts - Overview of all mount typesSilver Fang - Legendary wolf mount; combat companion with modest statsSnowwhite Deer - Legendary deer mount; agility and terrain crossingRock Tusk Warthog - Legendary warthog mount; battering ram with fast burst chargesIcicle Edge Alpine Ibex - Legendary ibex mount; best non-horse travel mountForce Palm - Healing skill useful for keeping mounts alive in combatCombat System - Combat mechanics overview46464747Community Guide Notes48484949The White Bear is one of the easiest legendary mounts to pick up because the fight that unlocks it sits alone in the far north of the map with no quest chain gating it. The mount is far slower than any horse, but it hits hard, survives punishment, and follows you into combat. Players use it as a tanky travel option and as a crowd control tool for other mount hunts, since it can kill the legendary wolf Blackfang in two or three hits.50505151Before You Leave52525353Create a manual save at the closest fast travel point to the spawn. The White Bear always appears with cubs, and the cubs can accidentally aggro nearby hostiles that drag you into a second fight before you have finished skinning.54545555The Fight and the Skin Step56565757Engage the adult White Bear alone. After it goes down, skin the carcass to receive the White Bear claws. Several players report killing the bear without skinning it and having to repeat the whole trip after realizing the claws never dropped. If you walked away last time without the claws, respawn the bear by fast travelling far enough and returning.58585959Crafting the Sigil60606161Take the claws to any witch vendor. The earliest witch most players unlock is located in the Witch Woods near Hernand, and she is often the quickest stop. Open her workshop, select Craft Abyssal Gear, and spend the claws on the Sigil of Solidarity for the White Bear. Use the sigil from your inventory to register the mount, then scroll through the mount wheel to swap from your horse to the bear.62626363Quick Reference: How the White Bear Differs From Tameable Bears64646565The Brown Bear and the Clawed Bear are both registered through the Patch 1.06.00 Special Mounts taming loop: lock on, Force Palm until a Ride prompt appears, feed meat to 100 trust, then press Take In. The legendary White Bear is a completely different track. It is defeated in combat, skinned for a crafting reagent, then converted into a permanent mount through a witch crafting step. The summary below mirrors the in-build flow and is intended as a quick checklist for players who have already taken down the bear and need the post-fight workflow.66666767Post-Fight Checklist68686969StepActionNotes1Travel to the spawn area west of Silver Wolf Mountain, south of the White Waste Sanctuary near Frostpeak Cave.Save at the closest fast travel point before engaging. The bear spawns alongside two cubs that can drag nearby hostiles into the fight.2Defeat the adult White Bear in combat.Fire damage is effective against legendary animals. Avoid pulling the cubs into your hitbox so they do not interrupt your skin window.3Skin the carcass to receive the legendary skinning reagent.Skipping the skin is the single most common failure mode. If you walked away without the item on a previous run, fast travel far enough that the bear despawns, then return for a fresh spawn.4Travel to any witch vendor that runs an abyss-gear workshop. The Witch's House in the Witch Woods south of the main city is the most accessible early-game stop. Other Witch's Workshops also accept the reagent.5Open the workshop, navigate to the abyss-gear or special-items section, and craft the consumable that unlocks the legendary White Bear. The item carries an icon similar to a biscuit and consumes from the inventory.6Use the crafted consumable from the inventory to register the White Bear as a permanent summonable mount. After registration the White Bear appears in the special mounts tab and is equipped from the mount wheel.7070Why the White Bear Has Its Own Path71717272Patch 1.06.00 introduced the broader Special Mounts tab and added bears to the pool of meat-tameable mounts. The legendary White Bear predates that system and was added earlier in Patch 1.01.00 as one of three legendary animal mounts with its own kill-and-craft unlock. The two paths remain separate. Taming meat does not work on the legendary White Bear, and the legendary unlock consumable does not apply to wild brown or clawed bears. Players who want a full bear roster pursue both paths on the same save without conflict.73737474Cubs Around the Spawn75757676Two cubs are always near the adult White Bear. They are not hostile by default, but they wander on a wide radius and can pull nearby predators or Black Bears patrols into the fight. Engage the adult from a clear approach line whenever possible so the cubs are behind you when the skin window opens.77777878After Registration79798080The registered White Bear is equipped from the mount wheel like other Special Mounts, with full saddle, mount-combat, and dismount-companion behaviour as covered earlier in this article. Compare its kit with the meat-tameable bear roster in Bear Mounts, and see the Legendary Mounts Guide for the full legendary mount lineup including the Silver Fang and Snowwhite Deer.81818282Cross References83838484For the open-world sighting that first introduces the bear and the boss encounter backstory, see Sighting of the Hoarfrost White Bear and White Bear of the High Mountains.
