11 Weapon Refinement is the core upgrade system in Crimson Desert. Every weapon and armor piece has 10 refinement levels. Refining raises base damage or defense and is the primary way to keep gear relevant across regions.

1515 Instead of spending refinement materials, you can sacrifice an exact duplicate of the weapon or armor piece to push it one level higher. This is useful for items you already own multiple copies of, such as common drops.

1919 Reinforcement (performed at the anvil) is a separate, free temporary defense boost. It resets after certain events, so players typically max Reinforcement before every major fight.Abyss Gear is an enhancement layer applied after refinement. Socket Abyss Cores into sockets created by a witch to add elemental damage, attack speed, critical hit, life steal, or AoE-on-hit effects.Witches unlock the ability to create sockets on weapons.
