Overview

Thalwynd is a small village in the Calphade region of Hernand. Its residents form militia units and provide crucial aid during times of danger to the region. The village sits to the west of Calphade Castle and contains the Church of Calphade, which features a belltower important to the Toll of Pywel quest.

Location

Thalwynd is located west of Calphade Castle, within the broader Calphade territory in northern Hernand. The village serves as one of the civilian centers in the Calphade region, alongside the surrounding military installations such as the Calphade Siege Armory and the Calphade Gunpowder Mill.

Chapter 6: Siege of Calphade

During Chapter 6: Cracks in the Shield, Thalwynd becomes one of the key objectives in the Cradle of Defense quest. Players must raise a banner pike at Thalwynd after reclaiming the siege armory and gunpowder mill. The village is defended by artillery towers during this sequence, and players must use Nature's Grasp to carry and plant the banner while under fire.

Church of Calphade

The Church of Calphade is situated within Thalwynd and features a belltower that can be climbed and rung as part of the Toll of Pywel challenge. However, the belltower cannot be accessed until the Chapter 6 main quests have been completed and the Calphade region is liberated from Black Bears occupation.

Tips

• Remember to return to Thalwynd after completing Chapter 6 to ring the Church of Calphade belltower for the Toll of Pywel quest.

• During the Cradle of Defense quest, watch for artillery fire while planting the banner at Thalwynd. Use Nature's Grasp time-slowing to navigate safely.
