New article covering language support, voice acting coverage, and localization scope
Crimson Desert supports over 13 text languages and full human voice acting in multiple languages. Pearl Abyss confirmed that all voice acting in the game is performed by human actors, with no AI-generated voices used. This commitment to human performance extends across all supported audio languages.
Full voice dubbing is confirmed for Korean, English, and Chinese. All mainline NPCs and story characters have full voice acting in these languages. Side quest NPCs may have partial voice coverage depending on their role in the narrative.
The English voice cast was revealed on February 25, 2026, through a "Behind the Voices" video released during IGN Fan Fest. The cast includes experienced performers from games and animation. See the Voice Acting article for the full cast list.
Crimson Desert supports text localization in over 13 languages. This includes full subtitle support for all cutscenes, quest dialogue, UI elements, item descriptions, and menu text. Some languages, like German, have full text localization but no voice dubbing; players using these languages will hear one of the dubbed audio tracks with subtitles in their chosen language.
Players can independently select their text language and audio language. This means you can play with English voice acting and Japanese subtitles, or Korean audio with English text, or any combination of the supported options. Language settings can be changed at any time from the options menu without restarting the game.
